/e is easily amused by emotes

Impossibility over on the WoW Ladies Livejournal is, I'm sure she'll agree, a newbie. But she did just finish Deadmines (grats!), and she was surprised, after completing the instance, to see the message above. Her rogue ripped her off!
Now, as she soon learned, she didn't really get pickpocketed-- rogues can only pickpocket mobs, not players. But she did get emoted-- what happened was that the player typed "/e successfully steals.." and it appeared like that above. You can do all kinds of fun things with emotes, because although they always appear in orange (in the default UI), players, even experienced ones, can get them confused with all the other messages coming by. The most common trick is usually "/e rolls 99 (1 - 100)", which looks like you got a really nice roll (except for the color, of course, which makes the trick easy to spot in a big list of rolls). Another good one is "/e receives [Sword of Awesomeness]," or just shift-click whatever item you want it to look like you just looted something cool on your own.
A warning: Just like the old Piccolo, lots of players usually find this more annoying than funny, so use it at your own peril (and you should never use it to try and rip other players off-- alert players will know exactly what you're doing, and then you're in real trouble). But a little levity sometimes goes a long way, and it's a fun trick to use once in a while.

Being that this is an emote, couldn't it be used to communicate with players of the opposing faction?
Like last night, could I have told the 3 lvl 70 paladins who though they were so cool because they were raiding TM to wait till I hit 70 and then we'll see just how good they really are?

You used to be able to communicate with it but Blizzard isn't retarded and fixed it...
Now you just make strange gestures.

I use an emote when people beg me for gold.
/e throws 2 gold on the ground.
They eventually whisper me, asking how they pick it up.
Even more fun in stormwind... I throw it in a fountain, or in the lakes. They often get close to drowning before they give up.

The traditional form is "/me pickpockets you for 15 silver." I used that in molten core one time and had a dude complain to our raid leader, the whole raid, and me personally for like ten minutes. I laughed so hard I almost slid out of my chair.

As of today, if you are on an RP realm you CAN emote the other faction. I'm on Farstriders and can emote the alliance till my fingers get tired. I'm not sure if straight PvE realms can do this, but I'm betting they can and it's only PvP realms that have emoting the opposite faction blocked.

I used to go near mailboxes where people were and do "/e reads your mail" that never got old. The reaction from noobs was hilarious and experienced players thought it was funny too.
I used to do "/e pickpockets you for 15 silver." a lot too.
But my favorite is to inspect a noob and pick an item from them that is equipped and link it like this: "/e takes your [Gem-Studded Belt] away from you." best....laugh....everrrr.

I used to use a pickpocket emote macro to great effect on my priest. It confused people like crazy. Good times...

Prauche, do you mean you can type /e and then enter your own emote? or do you mean the alliance/horde will understand /cry. because understanding normal emotes is normal, using /e and typing a message, such as
/e Hey come help me really quick.
will not work because blizzard doesn't want communications cross faction.
