WoW action figures: now with karate-chop action!
Well, actually, no, none of these action figures, made by DC Unlimited, specifically suggests karate-chop action (though they do point out that the figures feature "multiple points of articulation") -- but perhaps that will be an improvement for the second run. Due to be released in October, there are four different figures available, including a dwarf warrior, an orc shaman, a blood elf rogue, and an undead warlock. (Interestingly enough, these do not remotely match the figures that were initially announced in January, and included Illidan. However, these are listed as "Series 1," which implies there might be a "Series 2" in the future.) They all appear to be amazingly detailed -- and perhaps they'll be the perfect item to decorate your own WoWspace with.Filed under: Fan stuff, Odds and ends

IMO they're ugly as hell. They don't resemble in-game toons with attainable gear (at least not that I recognize), and appear to be geared more toward D&D lovers.
And in typical fashion there's only .25% love for the alliance. ( :

Two of the figures announced back in January are in the series that was just announced (the shaman and warrior).
As the draenei paladin and Illidan ones are supposedly "deluxe" figures, perhaps they'll be announced later on.
I do like the UD Warlock, though.

Umm, there had better be some legendary human pally love in the future (coughUthercough) or I'm not interested.

I'll agree with you about the first three wearing mostly unrecognizable gear but...
The Undead Warlock is wearing Tier 5. And looks absolutely amazing.
I want that action figure. I want Tier 5, but most of all, I WANT THAT FREAKING STAFF!!!

Illidan and the Draenei pally are deluxe figures... Not sure how they'll be releasted though
Probably some sort of boxed set up to stick on a shelf under the carded figures?

@1: The warrior and 'lock are wearing T5. The Shaman seems to be wearing Ten Storms undecorated in colour. The rogue is in a recoloured T2 it seems, wearing the same outfit as the female blood elf on TBC concept/release art.
@2: Because they probably take a sculpter weeks to create? Custom ones would cost at the very least many hundred dollars.

Did they have to make the female Mage look like a porn star ?
