Breakfast topic: I never knew that
I know that we've covered stuff like this before, but this forum thread, about what players have learned for the first time after two years of WoW, still threw me some curveballs. I never knew players had trouble with the "eating and drinking at the same time" thing-- were people really confused about that? I learned about the shift-clicking to buy certain amounts of items while I was buying poison stuff for my rogue, but I didn't know that alt-clicking automatically buys a full stack of it (in fact, not having tried it yet, I would still be surprised to find out it does). And crocolisks have six legs! I never noticed!
I never knew that warlock trick of Fear / Curse of Recklessness / Curse of Agony either, but then again, I've never played a warlock. So what do you know that's new, even after we've all been playing WoW for so long?

As a Paladin since release, I only recently figured out that I could train in axes. I guess way back when I went to the weapon trainer in SW and figure that was all they had to offer me. I never bothered checking the trainer in IF.
Oh well, the racial bonus for being a human will keep me with swords and maces anyway.
I'm such a noob.

Whats this warlock trick? I've never heard of, or even thought to use those spells in that order.
What exactly does that end up doing? Using curse of wrecklessness after a fear should break the fear, and curse of agony should just override curse of wrecklessness.

I recently learned that doing the /CAMP command is a bad thing :)

PUG wiped in Mara and I couldn't remember which instance side we were on. They told me orange.
"Left or right?" I asked. "I can't see colors as a wisp!"
I didn't realize you could turn off the death effect.

I didn't know about the shift thiung either. Thanks!

And I didn't know about the alt-click thing! Keen. And yeah, all the monster designs based on quadrupedal lizards have six legs- crocolisks, basilisks (both normal and Outland varieties), diemetradons...just a neat little quirk the designers have thrown in to make Azeroth and Outland seem like genuinely different ecologies with different courses of evolution, etc. instead of the usual OH HEY IT AM MEDIEVAL EARTH, BUT WITH DRAGONS deal.

You can turn off the death effects?! Damn! And I've been playin for a year and a half.

I didn't know about what I've nicknamed "The Stage," that is off the southeastern tip of Azshara. Its apparently a helipad for some obscure ally quest, but as a Horde-only player, I seriously thought if I waited long enough I would see some NPC Kiss concert.

I've been playing WoW for over a year now with a 350+ skinner. I decided to roll a new character with skinning and just learned last night, if you skin a sheep you get wool. I have to admit. It made me smile.

Please do elaborate on that warlock trick

@2
Using hte Fear/COR Trick allows you to "control" feared mobs. This is really handy when you don't want a feared mob to pull another group when in an instance. Curse of Agony just puts a Dot on the mob, not really sure why it is part of the "trick." Might have something to do with diminishing returns or something?

I didn't know the alt thing with purchases.
@ Zuuler post# 2:
Curse of Recklessness makes the afflicted immune to the fear effect without making them immune to the spell.
So if you fear a target with CoR on him he will be debuffed but his actions won't change, if you then remove CoR with another curse and the fear debuff is still on him he will run around in fear. Put CoR back on him and he'll come running back like normal.
You can repeat this as long as diminishing returns/time allow.

"That warlocks can fear a target and then use Curse of Recklessness to break the fear without removing the fear effect. They can then throw back on Curse of Agony and the mob will become feared again without the need to reapply fear. Pretty cool. "
Sounds like a bug to me - but if not, that's really neat. I guess CoR doesn't actually dispell Fear, just nullifies it for the duration.

@11
you fear a mob
he gets away from you or gets close to another group
hit him with curse of recklessness
he will run back at you ignoring the fear.
hit him with curse of agony.
he will run off again until the fear runs out.
Mike Schramm Mar 14th 2007 1:34PM
The thread goes through it in more detail, but from what I know, you fear and then as a mob gets close to someone else, put CoR on and it will stop the fear, but not remove the fear effect. Then, when the mob gets back to you, put CoA on it, and CoR gets removed, which means fear comes back and the mob takes off again. Repeat as necessary.
At least I think that's how it works. I've never played a warlock, so I've never actually done the trick. If someone else knows, please elaborate.

Naga:
Females have 4 arms.
Males have 2.
Explain that one.

I've been playing for 2 years and still haven't figured out how to whisper someone without right clicking their portrait or linked name, lol. Can anyone please list the comand for this?
Tony Mar 14th 2007 2:11PM
@ 3, 12, 13.
the reason for the COA after COR is that a lock can only have 1 curse on a mob at once. so when you dot with COA it replaces COR and then the mob runs off. then if need you can yo-yo until the fear runs out.
Jonathan Mar 14th 2007 1:43PM
@14 - you're exactly right. also known as fear juggling.
