Forum post of the day: Beggars will be shot on sight

First, a word of caution: there is a possibility that Blizz may consider this strategy to be griefing, so employ it at your own risk. It is, however, awesome. Apparently, if you're a Hunter, you can get a beggar killed, in town, if you're near an NPC that you can declare war on. For this example, we'll use a Cenarion Circle NPC (which I think there are in every major city). To summarize the OP:
- Beggar asks for gold.
- Invite beggar to group.
- Set "at war" with Cenarion Circle, put Misdirection on beggar, and shoot the Cenarion Circle NPC.
- The NPC will attack and probably kill the beggar.

I heard about this the other day and, while it isn't very nice, it is in fact awesome!

Yeah, I don't think I've run into anyone asking me for money...in the last five minutes.
Wait, nvm, there goes that, can I possibly borrow a hunter's services a tiny sec?

This'll spur a whole new side-job for hunters everywhere. I can see the trade channel now...
[Bob] LF Hunter to grief n00b. Will tip.

One of my favorite way of dealing with beggars, (it only really works if you're semi-afk in town), is the following:
-Open a trade window with beggar.
-Type in the amount of money they are asking for in the trade window.
-Walk away from the computer, grab a beer, use the restroom, read a book, go to sleep.
Then keep track of how many of the poor little guys actually sit and waited, or send you tell for a half hour when they could have gone and farmed that much or more themselves.

Oh my god. I think I'll be leveling my hunter now..

Wanna know what else is "griefing"? Spamming chat and spamming with a trade window so you can't actually do anything.
Killing the little pricks is the best idea ever.

Best thread ever :D
I hate beggars and other kind of sad losers aswell, it's good to see they get what they deserve.

Pure, unadulterated genius.

This makes me want to roll a hunter, and I don't see something like this getting nerfed either, unless they make distracting shot unusable in major cities.

Going to Ding 65 tonight mis-direct a 70 talent?

that's really funny. when I got genuinely bored with my horde priest in gadgetzan and booty bay, I used to try and kill allies with mind control. it's trickier than it sounds to have your victim gain the guard's aggro for long enough without getting killed first.

That is the best idea evar!!!!!
but then again havent all of us beggared at least once
well i know i have and even though u guys wont admit it i bet when u wer noobs u did to (at least once) lol
thing is i beggared 10 silver of this troll shaman, wrote down his name and when i got the money spare i tracked him down and repayed him with intrest and an opology(soz bout the spelling)about the beggaring
Zuuler Mar 21st 2007 8:13AM
Never begged for anything. Made my own gold, and paid for anything I needed from someone. If I need something crafted, I provided the mats.

This reminds me of the time when my roommate gave a homeless guy hassling him for some money at a red light one of the bottles of Bud Light he had just bought. Thing is it was one of the metal kinds that you need a bottle opener to open...hehe

short of removing the "at war" option Im not sure they could remove this functionality.
Flit Mar 21st 2007 9:22AM
Ahahahahahahah... that's awesome.
P.S. Had anyone tried this on Ninja looters in dungeons?
Reidja7 Mar 21st 2007 4:29PM
Now if only you could be at war with Stormwind or Ironforge...
Hoofio Mar 21st 2007 10:02AM
I think he's a leetist pratt..
Yeah, beggars are annoying but being vindictive like that is worse... /ignore ... it isn't hard... i bet he'd do the same to a real life beggar if he could.. as would some of the posters

The closest to begging I ever did was in the lower levels. I told a friend that I couldn't help him with a quest because I was busy earning 20 silver for some repairs. He gave me the silver told me to hurry and get my armor fixed, we did the quest, and later when I had some money I repaid him with 1 gold.
