Reader WoWspace of the Week: March 7 - 20
This week, Ben sends in some interesting images, and writes:
I've been tempted to send in a shot of my workspace for a few weeks now after seeing the WoWSpaces of the week, and now I guess I've gotten around to it.
So here 'goes, from left-ish to right:
- my Logitech X-230 speakers
- a note from my mom congratulating me on the arrival of my new PC
- a newspaper clipping about DST changes
- under that, a greeting card and some weird round orange post-its
- my television remote
- cream soda x2 (awwww yeah)
- a J!NX bumper sticker (yep, it's stuck on right on there)
- a page from an old Nintendo Power magazine about Ken from Street Fighter II
- partially under that, my DS charger
- my Pure Pwnage Gamer Army dogtags- standard Dell keyboard, which is hooked up to a web and vent server/secondary PC (right-hand monitor)
- my Logitech G15 keyboard and MX Revolution mouse
- my 19" widescreen Rosewill monitor
- some pieces of paper including:
- a rough sketch of my guild website (before I made it)
- a "crossfire in five easy steps" guide
- a Rotary International website participation award
- standard-issue Medion flatscreen
- my +15 frost resistance beanie (from SplitReason)
- my Logitech USB Premium Headset 350
- another stickynote pad, some chapstick, my wallet, my mouse charger, some compressed air, a can of Bawls and four covers of 50-CD packs turned upside down, holding my change (one type of coin each)
- my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick
- a bottle of water and a Ziploc bowl full of Nerds
- a Netgear router, a portable phone station/handset, a Logitech MX518 mouse, my cell phone, a USB hub, my printer, a modem and a phone headset
The shiny silver thing below the right portion of my desk can be vaguely made out as my PC, and the blue glow is coming from another PC behind it, a server/computer-to-use-while-playing-WoW combo, which you can partially see.
And that's my space!
What do you think of Ben's space? Are you gonna show us yours?

Nice, bit messy though!! I will be sending in mine in a few months when I'm fully rigged up!

WTB the G15 keyboard - but I have to wait until the current two hit the trash can (Wifie's rules)...
Trent Mar 21st 2007 8:39PM
Freakin' sweet. Nice Bawls, too.
Ekimus Mar 21st 2007 7:12PM
I like the desk itself, where did you get it?
Trospar Mar 21st 2007 10:38PM
Nice gear setup - love my DS too.
What do you think of the MX Revolution mouse? I've been looking to get a new mouse but I haven't fully decided yet.
Arras Mar 21st 2007 10:34PM
I used to have that exact same desk, think I got it from Staples or Office Depot
Nice setup

"- a page from an old Nintendo Power magazine about Ken from Street Fighter II"
Why do you still have this?

Sorry, the mess destroys any notion of coolness...

Is the article from Street Fighter is the one from the issue with Guile that do a drop kick on the cover ? lol I had that one too, it was my first issue i received, back then in 1992 i think. :) Old 16 bits times... when multiplayer meant two or more joypads.

I WISH I had anything like the stuff shown here. I have 1 fairly crappy PC stood on a crappy tiny desk. If only I could afford this stuff AND fit it into my room...

Ekimus (comment #3) and Arras (#6; desk buddy!) -- I got the desk at Staples, actually for only $70 or so. I'm very happy with it; it's got a lot of room to put stuff on (and now you've seen all that stuff).
Trospar (#7) -- the Revolution owns. I'm all about Logitech (if you didn't notice from all my gear), so I might be a bit biased, but it suits me very well. The coolest thing to show off is the free-spin middlemouse wheel (it spins freely like a tire!). You can switch it to or from free-spin / click-to-click mode by (1) setting it to change automatically depending on what application is focused, (2) setting the middlemouse button itself to toggle between modes, or even (3) setting it to autoswitch to freespin when you start rotating it fast (the speed is customizable). Right now I've got mine on always click-to-click, though.
Kevin (#8) -- YES! Air-five! Huwah!
Zuuler (#9) -- I decided to start bringing in all my old Nintendo Power magazines to work to read on my breaks (after I decided to stop collecting them and give that huge drawer I keep them in another purpose). While reading this particular issue, I ripped out the page about Ken's stats after I noticed that "haduken" was actually spelled "ha dou ken" (with the spaces). Which is embarrasing, because I actually have a shirt that spells it the wrong way. I was gonna show the page to someone, I think, but meh, whatever.
Jeff (#11) -- Yes, it is! And it was my first issue as well! You get an air-five too! Heeyah! It's thrown out now, though, as sorta explained above...
Thanks for the comments!

This is pretty crazy I must say. Because Ben's desk looks almost exactly the same since day I last saw it like 4 months ago. No joke!

so, whoever has a problem with a messy desk, oh well, some ppl work/play better that way..believe it or not, us messy-deskers usually know exactly where everything is on our work/play space..so if it works for ben, who are you to judge?....he is probably leaps and bounds ahead of you in WOW anyway..and after all, what is more important, come on now, really!!!
