Forum post of the day: Statements that make you leave a group
Sometimes I wonder how the majority of the world gets out of bed and puts on their pants without detailed instructions. Threads like "Sentences that have made you leave a group" do nothing to restore my faith in humanity, particularly the part of it that plays WoW. Highlights include:
- 62 warrior, to a paladin: "Can I get Mark of the Wild?"
- Hunter: "Has anybody seen my pet?"
- "Stop using fade. It messes up my video card."
- "Stop ninjaing the soul shards!"
- "/gim totally ninjaing chest after this boss dies, this @#$% pally thinks he can roll on hellreaver'"
- "How do I tank?"
- "I am so drunk right now."
Personally, I'll put up with a lot in a group, but two things tend to send up red flags. First off, "R U RILLY A GIRL" or anything along those lines, particularly since I suspect it'll soon be followed up with a request for naked pictures or myspace addresses. I also don't stick around in any group where the leader is expounding on how rogues are no good for anything other than opening the door/chest ... and then am asked to open a door/chest. \
What makes you leave a group?

A couple of friends of mine and I wanted to run Scholo back in the 60 days. We had everything covered except for a tank, so we sent out a LFM message. Everyone was sort of excited when a former Grand Marshall answered the call because we all knew he would have some good gear. A druid buddy of mine was healing. On the second or third pull, it became obvious that the tank had no concept of pulling. He'd charge in to the middle of huge groups of elite mobs that could have been pulled one or two at a time, dual-wielding like he was in a PvP fight.
Druid: "Um, do you have a shield?"
Tank: "A shield? How about you f*&@ing heal me?!"

I was running BRD back in the day and our 60 priest was leaving after a wipe. I thought he had just left, however, without saying anything and called him a douche in PChat. I then got a pst from a friend in the party that he was, in fact, still in here, and I kneejerk kicked him from the group.
So it was more like "What will I say to get YOU kicked from my group than what I need to hear to leave."
Priest, I'm sure, hates me still. I remember his name, I'm sure he remembers mine. :( Not my proudest moment. I still don't know what the heck I was thinking.
Little more on topic- I immediately told a group in Durnhold CoT I couldn't heal them when the rogue asked to tank.

It does not necessarily make me leave, but joining a group and immediately being promoted to leader (without it being discussed in any way before) always makes me very suspicious... the follow up of any of your mates a healer and/or tank can be depressingly inevitable...
... also, joining a group for UBRS, asking who has the key, and having people go 'what key?'...

Classic pug statement: "hunter, dismiss yr pet"
bbye grp.
any such statement does it for me, along the lines of "ill instruct u all in how to play"-thinking.
/i do recognize that there are plenty of ppl that mite need such instructions, but i dont grp with them. ever.

Whenever I join a group that I can tell is going to suck, I typically say something like "hey guys! I just got this sweet new ability - defensive stance! I have no clue what it does..." As a 51 Warrior - I typically get kicked immediately afterwards, then find another group and successfully tank the instance.
I don't like hunters who don't know how to use feign death. I leave when I see that.

It drives me crazy when I'm in the LFG tool on multiple instances. I get a random group invite with no prior whisper. What instance are you running? Say hello for the love of...
Also, I always put notes in the LFG tool such as, "holy pally, will heal". As soon as I get invited someone will ask, "whatz ur spec?".
I'm not leaving just yet but let's just say, I'm making alternate plans...

Any racist or homophobic comments and I bail (after pointing out the reason why). If I'm the group leader then I kick instead.

Anytime a class other than a warrior, pally or druid says they can tank.
While this doesn't make me quit, it's come close; the ever so common melee hunters. If I ask a hunter why he's doing melee damage, and he says because he does just as much damage, then my red flags go up.
and wouldn't it be impossible to type "/gim totally ninjaing chest after this boss dies, this @#$% pally thinks he can roll on hellreaver'"
once you type /[whatever], if it isn't a valid slash command it gives you an error.

When asked to help with warlock or paladin quests for mounts or pets. And the Lock/Pally who needs the quest forgets to bring an important quest item.
Like yesterday ran DM for Pally mount, and the damn pally forgot the horse feed.

@3, I've actually been that guy who says 'What Key?' Of course, being a rogue who actually leveled his lockpicking, I never realized I NEEDED a key....

" I had the LFG tool on. About a half an hour later I get an invite (by this time I forgot the thing was still on) from a 40-something rogue. He doesn't whisper before inviting me, "
You guys do realize that the lfg tool will automatically group you, right? He didn't know you were grouping with HIM either, until you were in the group...

I joined a group after a guildie asked for help in Ramparts. So I join and we are almost to the next to last boss. There was a hunter in the group and noticed after first pul he didn't have his pet out and was melee attacking. My conversation went like this:
Me: Hey why don't you bring out your pet.
Hunter: don't have 1
Me: ...
Also I was in a group for BRD once with a warrior who said he didn't want to be the tank because he gets nervous when people attack him.

Actually, after reading the forum one poster can sum up my opinion:
"Nerf teenage girls IMO."
God bless you avatar of the horde.
