Not quite a set: Purple Judgement
I really wanted to call this article "The Peculiar Purple Paladin of Porcupine Peak", but aside from being fairly non-descriptive, I was afraid the reference would be lost. Instead, I decided to just state exactly what we're looking at over on the right.
I hope we can all agree that the Paladin Tier 2 Judgement set is a solidly designed set of gear, which really breathed some life and energy into the Paladin class, stylistically speaking. As a paladin myself, it became my whole world. It was the single reason I played with my online dress-up doll, err.. paladin. When I had finally achieved the set, I felt satisfied and complete. Then the Burning Crusade came. Try as I might to not do it, I've had to put several pieces of judgement into storage as I'm leveling from 60 to 70. My poor little pally now looks like a hodgepodge of pieces from a bargain bin.
Luckily for those of us who plan to take our (forced?) places in a raid group upon hitting 70, there's a bit of a black light at the end of the tunnel.
While "Purple Judgement" isn't a fully realized set, with bonuses and a name, it is a grouping of very viable healing gear for the level 70 paladin. If you're keen on maintaining that Judgement look, and you're okay with being a healer at level 70, you'll want to seek out the following pieces, from helm to boot:
The Mask of Pennance
Drops From: Mekgineer Steamrigger in The Steamvaults
Justice Bearer's Pauldrons
Drops From: Omorr the Unscarred in Hellfire Ramparts (HEROIC)
Breastplate of Many Graces
Drops From: Grandmaster Vorpil in the Shadow Labyrinth
Virtue Bearer's Vambraces
Drops From: Broggok in the Blood Furnace (HEROIC)
Life Bearer's Gauntlets
Drops From: Nazran/Vazruden reward box in Hellfire Ramparts (HEROIC)
Girdle of Many Blessings
Drops From: Rokmar the Crackler in Slave Pens (HEROIC)
Cassock of the Loyal
Drops From: Hungarfen in the Underbog (HEROIC)
Boots of the Watchful Heart
Drops From: Captain Skarloc in Old Hillsbrad (HEROIC)
The total set bonuses come to:
Armor: 6641
Stamina: 192
Intellect: 206
Healing: 442
MP5: 41
Spell Crit: 79
So, what say you all? Are looks important to you and, if so, is this a non-set worth compiling? If not the full set, which pieces would you go for?

Basic strategy of Seal of Crusader (Improved), Judge, Seal of Command, Crusader Strike, Hammer, Judge Command, Seal of Command again. Crusader Strike will keep up the Seal of Crusader without having to re-apply it. You will greatly benefit from the Hunter's Aura as well (probably not on Deusirae at this time) and Blessing of Might (also Improved). You can check the talents to see more information. The Sanctified Crusader talent gives a major bonus to you and your group with Seal of the Crusader up for an additional 3% to crit. Since the Ret Paladin is all about burst damage (not sustained DPS), crit is pretty important. The higher your white damage, the better chance for a Holy damage crit. Since nothing out there stops Holy Damage, it is unmitigated and hits very hard. My base melee crit is between 15-16%, but I never fail to crit less than 3/5 hits during a fight. My spell crit is around 7-8%, but it seems that whenever I have a melee crit, the Holy damage crits as well. Can't explain it, it just happens.
Anyhow, you can count on around 5k-8k damage within the opening of the fight. On bosses and mobs that need tanked well, I open slower to make sure I don't steal aggro from the tank. If I end up being the tank (I'm not too great at this), I go all out, and no one will take aggro without using an aggro focusing talent.
I hope this helps any Rets out there. I have all the respect for the healing Paladins that they have earned, but I simply chose to stick with my favorite spec.

@ret paladin DPS.
I have a 70 paladin, I have been ret, holy, and prot.
I just respec'ed back to holy, from prot, as an endgame tank in karazhan.
However, any mage or warlock you are outdamaging is afk.
Good luck with never touching any end game content, because no guild will ever let you dps, because you can't, and you are a joke.

i play a retro speced pally and you know i really had a hard time excepting that i really cant out dps anyone but the healer and tank. but now im ok with that in pvp i can smash anything in cloth before they know what hit them(hint it was a pally with a 2H mace). i can solo all day long with-out need for a break and in groups i can off tank the face off some adds while making the dpsers job alittle easier(my dps is sub-par for dedicated dps but higher than any other tank).so learn to love your role as an off-tank off-healer and off-dpser and look on the bright side who else uses 2HW(stupid druids they roll need for everything"i can use it to heal""your feral though""i can still heal" or the other way around
