BlizzCon back for 2007!

After the success of BlizzCon 2005, there was much disappointment when everyone discovered that it wasn't meant to be an annual event, and there would be no BlizzCon 2006. Of course, I really can't blame Blizzard for skipping 2006 -- they were busy working on the Burning Crusade! But Blizzard announced today that BlizzCon is coming back for 2007. While they haven't released full event details yet, here's an outline of what you can expect:
- Discussion panels with Blizzard developers
- Artist and developer signings
- Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
- World of Warcraft Trading Card Game tournaments and demos
- Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests with great prizes
- Commemorative merchandise and other products based on the Blizzard franchises
- A silent auction
- Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games

ARG, horrible timing, our Baby is due less than a week earlier...

I'll do what I did last time.
Send a friend who lives nearby to get me the goodie bag and send it to me.
Unless I can get a REALLY cheap flight, I can't see spending much on going out to the west coast for the event but if there's a new exclusive pet?
Maybe it'll be a mount this time.
Oh. it will be mine.

Sounds like a celebration of virginity and sociophobia to me, a world of warcraft version of a star trek convention.
Costumes and character-sound alike contest??
I'm embarassed for the participants just thinking about it, because you know that 80% of people in costume are going to start role playing as soon as they put it on.

@3, I don't participate in these kinds of things, but I do want to say I found your critique kind of ironic. You call it a "celebration of virginity" following a poster who can't go because her/his child is being delivered on a conflicting date.
You also call it a celebration of socio phobia...
Is there any better demonstration of security with yourself than dressing up as fantasy creatures and attending a convention with thousands of other people? Sounds like some of the most secure people on the planet.

Well i guess that's what a get for being a hater.
But the one with the kid is not going to be there, due to the kid, so that right there raises the virgin to non-virgin ratio.
And you are probably right being seen in costume in public is probably indicative of self-security, but I would still be embarassed being there with them, if that is a character flaw on my part so be it.
