Well, shadowpriests with VE and VT help me a lot with instances and raids due to their HOT and their mana recovery O.T. which makes up for my holy priest just being a mana guzzler (thanks blizzard). They make my healing job much easier. For a well geared warrior for example, the SP HOT and my HOT combine to heal quite effectively.

This helps the priest conserve mana imo. So many pugs i've been with have HP meters go up and down at such a fast rate that i've literally played whack a mole selecting group portraits to heal.

So it comes down to a couple of things i guess. We have to live with what the SP brings to the table and use it to my advantage or beg blizzard to improve holy priest skills, talents, and stats.
