PTR notes: Welcome to Ogri'la

Along with the Skettis Skyguard, there's another new faction to grind for in 2.1: Ogri'la. In my search for the elusive ogres, I was sent down to the Lower City by a quest giver in Shattrath's Terrace of Light; from there, the next step is to zip up to the Ring of Blood in Blade's Edge and talk to an ogre there. (Side note: the journey was hilarious, as epic flying mounts on the PTR are currently bugged to flutter their wings insanely fast when you fly forward.) I didn't follow through after that, because all the "real" quests to gain reputation with the Ogri'la ogres appear to be 5-man, and the thought of pugging with four other random PTRers was a little daunting.
Never fear, though, I did go over to Ogri'la to snap the above shot and check out the rewards, which you can see in the picture after the cut (not composited by me; my pic was much worse). The prices of all the gear are in Apexis Crystals and Apexis Shards, which I assume drop from whatever it is you have to kill to get Ogri'la rep. If it's anything like the Sporeggar, getting the required reputation level is much more difficult than getting the turn-in tokens. Oh, and there's a repair vendor there, which is always pleasant. Ogri'la is located in the west of Blade's Edge, between Forge Camp Terror and Forge Camp Wrath.

Is it me, or do those "epic" plate boots suck? I would never grind to Exalted for those, they need to fix the stats on that one.

I did the 5 man quests to start the ogri'la, and got a whooping 25 faction from the last one in the chain. The factions rewards are pretty crappy too.

Aaaaaaaaaaand nothing for a healer, fabulous. I won't be wasting my time on them.

Antenora - the cloak is for a healer, however I'm not sure it's worth grinding for.

Although almost every other faction as something for +healing only, outside of scryers/aldor (most rewards are only +healing) but i've got to agree, these are just as bad as karazhan loots. What happened to the days of wow when they gave you a goal....or something worth grinding for. The last I recall was pre-TBC.

I did the 5 man quests to kill the sons of gruul with 4 other guildies. I don't know if it's bugged or not, but what the quests asks you to do is kill the sons; after you kill each son the spawn a big clickable skull you loot to pick up your quest reward. We killed one on our own then headed to the place above shattrath for our next mob. There was a group already there killing the mob so my group was hanging out waiting to tag the next respawn. When the other group killed him, he spawned the skull and everyone could loot it, even my group. If it stays like that it shouldn't be too hard to complete the quest line at the beginning, especially with a high pop server.

Those bracers are not much better than what I'm wearing now....why grind for them, when something better will drop for me in some dungeon?

Ahem. I started on Sporeggar rep on Saturday morning, played only part of this weekend, and got to Revered from Unfriendly (in between a couple of instance runs).
If you want to talk difficult rep grind, Scryer/Aldor is a better example.

Difficult? You can get all the way from neutral to exalted with common items you can farm or buy on the auction hall. Now Consortium, there's difficult for you.
