Around Azeroth: Entering Deadwind Pass

I agree with Valens of We Know on Eitrigg, who sent in this shot. Deadwind Pass is creepy. Really creepy. A screenshot really can't do it justice, though -- if you actually venture there in-game, you'll see the corpses in the trees slowly swaying in the wind. And if you follow the roads, the majority of the zone is unnervingly empty. I recall my first trip through Deadwind Pass as a young warlock trying to complete a quest that required me to visit the Swamp of Sorrows for the first time. Approaching the entrance to Deadwind Pass, and seeing the corpses and warning signs, I asked on my guild line whether it was safe to run through. "Of course!" they all told me -- and they were right, but walking down the empty road towards the swamp, I couldn't shake the feeling that there must be something somewhere nearby that was responsible for these things.

I gotta agree, the few times I've been through this pass getting towards the swamp have been spooky as anything... kept looking over my shoulder... I did see one beastie down a branch that was ?? to me, fortunately not the path I was taking. I don't think it's so bad when you have a mount, but yeah when you're an upper-30's character running through you just keep thinking "must... run... faster..."

This is the place where, at least for me, PVP Encounter mean red = dead hehe. I like the name of the place, Deadwind pass, it like russian roulette for ganking, just the ambience make you wonder if there's a slealth rogue behind you

I remember the first time I did a little exploring outside of Darkshire in my 20's into deadwind pass: I saw a red mob and it killed me twice.
Didn't go again until I had to help summon for BRD and was without FP.
I died. Twice.
i did however exact revenge on those "unliving" mobs doing my Kara key quest but still creeped otu by DWP
