Around Azeroth: Rainy day

I know, weather effects have been in the game for a while now -- maybe long enough to have gotten old and boring. But you have to admit, this shot of Southshore in the rain shows a vastly different place than Southshore on a sunny day. Pencroft on Lightning's Blade who sent this one in, saying:
...it just felt very Lord of the Rings to me. Like I should grab a different cloak.

I really think they should add more weather effect, and the snow effect is crappy, I nearly dont see it on my monitor, it would be a loot better if it was a dense snow : Like in the preview video they showed us before weather effect were released... snow was thick and it added a good feeling. If you watch the original WoW intro movie, I think we need snow like the one you see when the hunter is fighting an orc.
Beside, if there's really a Northrend expansion it shoud have thick snowstorm that look very hostile hehe

I think it would be neat if the weather affected you. If it's snowing, maybe it has a chance to slow you down for a second or two. If it's raining, maybe your armor rusts and needs repair a tad faster. Nothing really big, but it might be neat to see a little icon come up saying, "Rust damage, you've lost one point on your armor"
I also think it would be nice if the snow accumulated.

Would we need to put on leather or cloth when it rains ? XD
hehe but seriously, there should be thunder storm with a real big bass sound, that, in raven hill it would be cool.

Yeah it sucks, there was supposed be rain with further patches, but it seems as the weather stuff got forgotten due to BC...

Franchi, I believe weather was added in Spring of '05.
For me it's my favorite feature (especially the rain), and I too wish there was more of it. I love entering AB pvp to find it raining; it sets such a mood!

Yeah true, Weather been here for a while now, but it always bugs me when there's heavy rain in Elwynn and then you cross the gates of SW and its sunny without a hint of cloud in the sky...

Especially since WoW is an old game if you compared the 3D engine, it would really benefit from more particles effects, like the sandstorm of Tanaris, they should be more dense, snow more thick ; to keep up with modern 3D card... Blizz should add an option to max out these effect for real impact on performances on low end system, but good looking weather on new system, It would greatly help the ambience of some outdoor environment.
Beginning as a dwarf in the middle of the snowstorm, or as an orc with heat effect in the barrens... Sometime like this could revamp the dating engine.

So, lets all make a petition to have more weather effect lol... instead of the continuous nerf/buff debate that will never end :)
