Forum Post of the Day: Kiting Gamon

Ah, the things boredom can drive you to do. But at least in the case of Waffels, it's something that can entertain all of us. One dull day, Waffels decided to take Gamon (a level 12 NPC in Orgrimmar used for the rogue lockpicking quest) for a little walk.
To Silithus.
It took him about an hour and a half, but Waffels managed to take Gamon all the way to Cenarion Hold before getting into trouble with a shadow priest decided to end the adventure with a mind blast. However, the 10 copper worth of loot made the entire trip worth it, don't you think?

I use him all the time for my lower level characters to get my Unarmed stats up.

I know this is a stupid question and it must be fairly obvious to everyone else, but, um, I'm assuming Gamon is a Horde NPC because he's in Ogrimmar, and, if he is, how do you kite someone of the same faction?

this rules.
gamon (for the alliance out there) is an NPC that's basically cowering in the inn at ogrimmar. He's 'hostile' which means he can be killed, but being level 12, he can basically be one shotted by almost anyone. kiting him all the was to sili is quite an achievement. i can only imagine that he had to use the worst possible gear, shooting the absolute lowest possible spell ranks to pull it off.
i'm a level 70 rogue, and just GOUGING gamon kills him.

Not to mention having to kill every mob that got within 500 feet of him along the way, so he wouldn't die to the agro. But which way did he go? Down the TN elevator? Or through Stonetalon, Desolace, and Feralas? *goes to read post for info*

Okay I read. As Alliance I didn't know about that other way in TN through RFD(skipped that instance in my leveling).
I checked WoWHead and found another guy who did the same thing. He was also a mage. Coincidence? Lots of use of Frost and Sheep/Pigging from them.

Its a lot better to do some trouble with these kiting shots... Best kiting shot I did was to pull Morladim and Morben Fel to Sentinel Hill lol... Then watching somes lowbies trying to hit the two level 35 Elites :)
A little feign death added some challenge for them I think hehe.. Funny to see those two 35 elite doing a rampage at sentinel hill

Best kiting I ever did was pulling the AV Allie Rep vendor to Terren Mill. Watching all the lowbies get one shotted by cleave was classic!

As a warrior, I've taunt-kited Gamon out of Org, but I was never able to get him very far without someone killing him. I always wanted to get him onto the Zep, but he'd either get killed or evade bugged before then.
