PTR notes: Up on the roof
It's always nice when Alliance pay a diplomatic visit to Orgrimmar. The ambassadors -- usually of the night elf variety -- tend to sit on the bank's roof, naked and dancing, until the point when some brave Hordie decides to attack the dancer. Then out come the stealthed rogues.
But Alliance are no longer welcome in the Horde capital. As of the 2.1.0 test realm, there are Troll Roof Stalkers on top of the Orgrimmar bank. These level 70 elites are apparently intended to keep Alliance out of Org. Many people are angry at what they consider a new chapter in Blizzard's war on fun, but it's unlikely that enough Alliance enjoy hanging out in Orgrimmar to mount serious protests. Heck, I'm Horde and I don't even like hanging out in Orgrimmar. It looks like it was designed by the army surplus tent store.
Personally, I don't consider this a game-breaking nerf -- but then again, I'm Hordeside. I do understand why it seems unfair, so I will accede to the placement of Gnome Shin Kickers in the Deeprun Tram if this change goes live. Also, I agree that Troll Roof Stalkers would be a great band name. What do you think about this change?

Corpse-camping Horde in Deeprun Tram? Please make them go away.

I always wondered why security on the cities wasn't beefed up due to the new lvl cap. But there has to be a perfect balance so that town raiding can still exsist on pvp servers. If addign a couple guards makes people happy. Then cool. Alliance will find a new roof to visit!
(ive never done that myself though)

Its a Precursor to player housing! Otherwise, why even bother?

Whatever it takes to keep the stinky alliance out of my favorite hang-out...

Aw that's no fun. I'm horde on a pvp server and I love our ally snipers in org lol. Nothing funnier than having a hunter snipe people at the mailbox who don't even notice they are being attacked.

How about more guards at Crossroads?
OK, My main is Alliance, but I have a Horde alt on another server (all PvE) and until I had a horde alt, I never understood 'Let's raid Xroads'. I will no longer participate with my main. What is the point of killing toons

Blizzard is famous for nerfing moments in Warcraft that neither broke nor unbalanced, but merely for the sake of making the game less interesting.

I like it when people do fun things like that, as long as they aren't disrupting gameplay (corpse camping) or spamming general chat yelling crap, I think its what makes an MMO interesting and I'm all for a chuckle every now and then. If everything was just strictly business I'd probably just play regular RPG's offline.

I am going to have Gnome Shin Kickers in my head for the rest of the night.
Laukidh Apr 17th 2007 6:45PM
Bah, don't need them in org. They need them in crossroads and srr.

Seriously, if the Org bank gets Troll Snipers, where are the Gnome Assassins in the Deeprun Tram?
Ichigo Apr 17th 2007 8:55PM
Considering how insanely easy it is to get into ANY of the Horde Capital cities, this is just a minor inconvenience for the Alliance.
RogueJedi86 Apr 17th 2007 9:42PM
Except Silvermoon. The Undercity teleporter doesn't work, so Alliance has to be at least strong enough to survive EPL to get into Blood Elf Lands. The Draenei islands, on the other hand, require a max of mid-20's to survive the mobs in Darkshore and Ashenvale.
