WoW Moviewatch: How to fly

The title of this movie is a little misleading, as he never really tells you how he does it. However, the moviemaker claims that he's flying (without the aid of a flying mount) on live German realms. I've got my doubts on this one -- if you were really able to do this live, Blizzard would have hotfixed it by now. But you can take a look and decide for yourself.

Let me guess... a Druid in flight form, without the flight form "form" engaged because of a bug?

No it's totally doable. We were doing it the other day. You can float around pwning people from above. I'm surprised none of us got reported for it, but it was amazingly funny. I'm sure it's gonna get hotfixed soon so enjoy it while it lasts.
Heres the process:
1) Find mage to duel
2) Start duel
3) Mount on flying mount
4) Mage has to nova then poly while the person on the mount is novaed then a cast spell then an instant while the person spams jump before the nova runs out. I do a scorch then a fireblast.
If you get the timing right, you can then fly around outlands without a mount...or you can mount your regular mount midair and fly around. .You name it. It's hilarious. It lasts until you log or until you enter an instance as far as I can tell.

I don't believe its on a live server. You can't go up an incline like that (second example) with no resistance. You would at the very least have to reapproach the top serveral times before you actually get there.

Nah, I saw a rogue do this yesterday. He also did it while on a ground mount. I didnt ask though. :(

I once saw a Warlock in Shattrah which was also flying on his standart epic horse mount. And i wasnt the only one who noticed lol ; must have been a rare glitch, like those where you can ride the gryffon in Azeroth.

@1 I don't think so, he was casting at times and mounted on a ground mount at other times (can't do either in flying form). It does seem strange that he changed characters only to do presumably the same thing in mid video.

I have also seen a mounted person without a visible mount swimming around like that. He could see his mount, I couldn't, and for me he looked like he was swimming.
He was actually mounted though, he couldn't attack in that state or anything.

There's a comment about mages not being able to poly people on flying mounts anymore in the patch notes.

There is a quest in Netherstorm that gives you a Blood Elf costume as part of the quest. As a Druid with flight form, if you shifted to flight form while wearing the costume you could fly around Netherstorm as the guy in the video did. So apparently there are several different bugs involving flying.

yes, this is a bug with polymorph. I had this happen to me (i'm also mage, but that's not important). somehow i was on the ground with my flying mount and got poly'ed. and i actually got poly'ed like you're not supposed to. after i died (it was in pvp in area 52), i noticed i could fly while not mounted. it was really freaking cool until i tried to attack someone and got the goblin zepplin after me (flying guards in a52).

Very possible, I've watched it done time and time again - Molochus/Asmodeus - Scilla Horde - Hang out in shatt long enough and you see the people flying around eventually. You see it most there because people go to the nagrand arena so they can do it easily. The above method works you can also do it by going to that arena with a pally and mage outside your group, pally stuns you with HoJ as mage is casting poly(you have to be on your flying mount on the ground) and you spam jump as the mage insta casts a fireball and hits cone of cold trying to time it as it hits, as long as you spam jump the whole time it's happening when you are broken out you will shoot skyward and are able to stay there or land and walk/mount and fly about. It also goes away if you mount your flying mount and dismount in the air. I'm sure it will be hotfixed soon.

lol my guild just did a raid on halla today 35 man where everyone was flying like in the video, the horde were like wtf ! :D

a few a weeks ago i was pvping with some guildies in nagrand when our shadow priest jumped off the side of halaa to the water. When she got out of the water she got stuck in a swimming animation. Then she noticed she could fly.. and not just that even attack people. She flew around halaa for about an hour killing people on flying mounts and then later was messaged by a gm that hacking was a offense and logged her off. Im not sure these are related cause she could still attack and didnt have any mounted effects.

Had this done to me by a friend, it was pretty cool but kinda wore off in its novelty after awhile.
