Around Azeroth: Mystery zone

I'm afraid I can't tell you what this is a screenshot of. It looks kind of like C'thun, doesn't it? Reader Nathan sent this one in, saying he snapped it while flying through Shadowmoon Valley. He notes that the three arakkoa (who are either containing or summoning the C'thun-like being) are killable, but nothing happens to the C'thun creature, which is untargetable. So what's this going to be? We'll have to wait for Blizzard to finish implementing it to find out.

It is implemented, it's a quest you get in Shadowmoon. Don't remember it's name, but I have done it twice now.

As have I. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong thing, the area in the shot above can be found by fighting your way through The Deathforge.
There's a quest you get.. somewhere.. to interrupt the summoning process in question. It was really easy.
That's all I have to add.

Its located at 41,60 in shadowmoon valley its for the quest Thwart the Dark Conclave, which is the last quest of a questline that starts with The Sketh'lon Wreckage (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10569)

There is a horde side quest inside Deathforge with the same basic theme, that ends with a similar setup (but the mages there are trying to hold some infernal thing in check). But this one is outside and alliance only.

After the run-up to this, it was almost anti-climatic. You kill each of the summoners (which is very easy, as they have pathetic HP), then use the item you've assembled during the quest chain close to the creature and it's dispelled. End of story.

The quest in question is Thwart the Dark Conclave (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10808) and is available for both factions.

I would like to point out that this pic is not from around Azeroth. It's in Outland. =P
