Why does everyone want to DPS?

I have a 60 rogue (DPS obviously) and a 51 prot-aoe pally (natural agrro holder) and I love playing them equally. Earlier on in my pally's life I actually healed some and I enjoyed that.

Being in high demand as a tank or healer is pretty atractive, I like it.
