Breakfast topic: Most hated mob abilities
I have previous expressed my burning hatred for whirlwinding mobs, and very few people are fans of getting feared into a nearby group of enemies.. But while leveling my pally, I've rediscovered my least favorite mob action of all time -- enemies that heal themselves when they're at about 20 percent health. These mobs also seem to conspire and wait until my Hammer of Justice in on cooldown, so all I can do is flail impotently with my big axe as they heal to 80 percent and laugh at me. I can also do a quick mana tap and arcane torrent, but by the time I think of that they're usually healed already.
As I write this, I'm fighting caster murlocs who are underwater, heal themselves, and run away when they're low on HP, which has got to be some kind of record for most annoying mob abilities combined in one. What is your most hated mob ability -- healing, fear, daze, or something even more sinister?

Probably those Blood Elves in Netherstorm that heal themselves to 100%. It just makes me kill them twice for only looting them once. Other than that, mobs that daze aren't a problem anymore (flying mount). But I do hate some knockback bosses or anyone with nasty AoE capabilities.

Gotta be healer mobs - especially if you have no way to interrupt their casting. My old lowbie hunter always had trouble killing the trolls at the southern islands of durotar. Hated those trolls.

healing mob's are a pain in my butt. I never seem to be ready with my silencing shot when they do it the first time. Though on the revenge side of things all his little healing bretheren get an arrow in the mouth from then on.

Anything that stuns/knockdowns/etc. Particulary mobs that charge and stun me, especially when I play hunter since they'll end up inside the deadzone.
This includes those grud darned worms in Silithus, and the shoulder charging ogres around Halaa in Nagrand. I send my pet at them and start casting aimed shot. VOOM! The mother comes flying at me without me having done anything to aggro it (well, except sending in my killer ravager at it and aiming my fat gun at it of course, heh)...
It screws up my aimed cast, I can't do anything for three seconds, and it aggravates me something fierce. Very very very annying!

As a caster (warlock), I hate any mob with a high attack speed. A 4 second cast can sometimes take up to 10 seconds before I finally manage to get one off. A lot of times it's just waiting before the DoT's kill him.

Dazed... dazed... I loathe dazed.
There's nothing I hate more than getting aggro by accident, or blasting through an area on my mount and getting dazed. I hate it even more that it dismounts you and forces you pretty much to die when you have a bunch of stuff on you. I guess you can say it's there so that you have to fight through those mobs to get to where you are going to, but I'm setup for pure healing, and it takes me an eternity to get through droves of mobs.
Down with !!!

@ 4
well, if you are casting a 4 second soulfire you should really open with it :P
i dont mind healing mobs too much, a quick deathcoil shuts them up. or i just carry on draining them and life tapping it back. twice the HP returned from one mob.
Magic immune mobs... karazhan... curator - shade of aran. NOTHING agrovates me more than having to swing my crappy sword at a stupid wormling!!

Daze is my hated enemy - and not when it gets procced properly, but when I'm standing still, with a mob in front of me, and another mob from behind aggros, hits and dazes me. What the hell? I'm not trying to run away, I'm not even moving - I'm killing your friend before I turn around and take care of you.

healing is OK....rogue kick ftw
i hate fear. i hate the out-of-control feeling of watching myself run around and just have to sit there and watch it.
and of course the daze that dismounts you. gotta be a common problem.
Savok Apr 24th 2007 8:42AM
Daze.
I swear they they upped the chance of daze by 50% in Outland, at least.
Lulea Apr 24th 2007 8:50AM
Whenever the mob self-duplicates or makes another spawn. Two I can handle, but if you aggro two originally, well, dealing with 4 mobs at the same time usually requires that ability with 30 min. cooldown or making use of potions. Sucks :P

Insta-cast spell reflect shield.
Nothing like working hard to get that +1000 spell damage just to have your arcane power, trinket, presence of mind, pyroblast get reflected back on yourself for 5k damage.
FireStar Apr 24th 2007 9:30AM
Any mobs that push or pull. The knockback sucks when you get hit off a mountain. The pull of a vortex in nagrand sucks too when you're in a 5 man group to kill whatever that big dude is (but we did get him).
KissTheRing Apr 24th 2007 9:12AM
I don't like those that have silence spells, when I'm silenced all I can do is hit the mob with my staff and that doesn't do much for a caster.
Kabira-Fenris Apr 24th 2007 9:14AM
The charge/intercept thing that half the Outlands mobs have. It interrupts spells before the mob gets to you and doesn't even take into account that your frostbolt froze it way before it got to you.

Curse of the Felwood.
50% reduction in healing for 1:30. Made the grind even more of a grind.
Thijz Apr 24th 2007 9:17AM
One of the first REALLY annoying mobs are the Dwarves in Mulgore (Tauren starting area). The Appraisers can heal ánd have a huge aggro range. When you're fighting one of the miners and you pull one of those you can better start running...
GDub Apr 24th 2007 9:21AM
As a rogue, I hate any mob that can poison or any other DoT. I particularly remember having to kill scorpids in Sithilus - a 30 sec poison really slowed me down.
Maedhras Apr 24th 2007 9:34AM
Elizabeth:
If memory serves, you don't need to mana tap in order to use arcane torrent. You can just use it a silence spell even without any charges up.
But to make things fair, dwarves can find treasures.
Falgorn Apr 24th 2007 9:39AM
Those ghost in Kirintor in Netherstorm that cast a debuff on you which shares all damage they take. INFURIATING.
