Agreed with Hoss as well. As a DPS warrior you have to work your butt off to justify your raid spot (I should know...18/43/0 for months now...topping the damage meters barring a good rogue performance). If you want to raid as a DPS warrior here's some tips.1. Learn to tank. Sad but true. Too many warriors just want to DPS because they are terrible at tanking. DPS IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM RESPONSIBILTY!! Your tanking gear should be as good as your DPS gear, as you WILL be called on to tank frequently.2. Forget about PvP. There's no room in a PvE DPS spec for PvP considerations if you want to justify your spot in a min/max raid. 3. Talents;- Iron will; worthless- Imp charge/heroic strike/overpower; all poor talents for a DPS spec. That said, you have to put points in somewhere to get deeper in the tree. I like imp overpower personally. Start a fight in battle stance, put up battle shout, demo shout, Tclap and use overpower to get rampage up. It's an excellent way to help the tank get setup without generating a heap of early agro.- Imp Thunderclap; Talk to your MT, if he has it, put the points in imp heroic strike. Imp Thunderclap proves more melee mitigation then wearing a shield generally!- Piercing Howl; You can make a case for it, but i don't like it personally. Earthbind/frostnova/frost trap does a better job in a group setting IMO.- Imp cleave; Meh, better spot for points elsewhere IMO.- Imp execute; I went a long time without this and just picked it up about 3 weeks ago. It's good, there's no arguing that, but it's almost TOO good. Reck/death wish/execute spam is insane agro. It's like a 20 second burst of 2000+ dps and often results with me dying at 3-5%.- Imp bloodrage/intercept/whirlwind; if only i had the points to spare. Better spent elsewhere IMO. Rage is never an issue, you aren't going to waste points on intercept generally and the whirlwind improvement, while nice, doesn't justify the points.- Rampage; You are already 40 points in the tree, why not get it? Weak ability though.- Tactical Mastery; Had it FOREVER, and dumped it 3 weeks ago. I don't miss it at all. Rage generation ATM is enough to overcome the lost rage in under 2 seconds, and you aren't coming out of berserk stance ever anyways.4. Group composition; Adds more to your DPS then almost any other class in the game. Windfury + Improved leader of the pack = HUGE dps increase. I mean HUGE, like 30%+ huge.5. Buff yourself; Bring str/agility pots and sharpening stones for your off-hand. You will need them to remain competitive with other DPS.6. Don't SUCK; Hardest one to manage here IMO. Don't pull agro....EVER. Don't stand in AoEBring BandagesDon't Fear mobs into more mobsetc. When an angry raid leader is looking to replace people to class balance out the raid for an encounter a DPS warrior will be first on the list...don't give him any more reasons then necessary to cut you.
