Forum Post of the Day: I have never looted an epic

I am impressed by EU forumgoer Yippi. Despite having two characters at level 70, one at level 69, two more at 60, and a host of lower levels, Yippi has never even seen a world drop epic. That's enough to make you wonder if the darn things even exist! Even though, in my experience, I have to say that they do -- while leveling, I've gotten Robes of Insight, an Underworld Band, a Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn, and I've seen (though I didn't win) a Krol Blade. Maybe I'm as lucky as Yippi is unlucky?
But, I don't know... like the guys over at Penny Arcade say -- green is the new purple. Maybe missing out on those world drop epics isn't that bad after all.

i had a bloodrazor drop at lvl 40 something in felwood, which i then transferred to alliance and sold for nearly double what i could for on horde.

You speak about "< 60 epics",
but Yippi means BC-epics...this means epics > Level 60 ;)

I Just got my first Epic at lvl 70... it was the Cenarion Bracers for my Tier 1 set. But... i Bought them off the AH.
Ive never seen an epic drop ever. Been playing since November.

I've had one or two drop for me. The first was a Freezing Band. I was still a noob at the time, so I equipped it (for more powerful Frost Shocks).

Been playing for 2 months and saw 1 epic world drop. It was in the hinterlands off a random mob. "The Green Tower" was the name, I didn't win the roll though.

Just saw (and won!) my first epic ever, im lvl 51, been playing for about 3 months. It was the [Gut Ripper] dagger and it dropped off a random mob in the Sunken Temple

Ive been playing since release, multiple 60s on several servers, soon to be multiple 70s, and last week while grinding out a new hunter in Tanaris, I had my first epic world drop, in fact 2 Epics drop within an hour.. A Green Tower, and an Icemail Jerkin.
Just hope I havent used up all my luck on those 2 items :(

I've been playing on and off for almost two years now and I've never seen an epic drop, world-drop or no. I've crafted a couple and I've collected a few from Battleground rewards, but I've never seen one come from a mob. I've got two characters in Outland and a few more better than half way there.

I remember being totally floored when my first world epic dropped in the lower 40's. It was an underworld band, and apparently those drop like candy, lol, but I made a few gold off of it and was very excited.
I rolled for, and won, a bloodrazor that dropped off a mob in that first room of BRD, right before you get to the ring of law. I was with a guild group which was trying to get me some new gear and teach me, the baby prot warrior, the best tanking skills. I'm still AMAZED by their generosity - to have a bunch of guys go "Listen, girl, you need it so need it!" to a level 51 warrior who was still fairly new to the guild is amazing to me. If anyone from Phantom Regiment on Vek'nilash is reading, Velicien says hi, and I miss you guys :)

My brother has picked up a Blinkstrike, and tonight I won a RR on a Lightning Crown inside Karazhan, my first BoE world epic.

I was grinding in WPL....Hurricane dropped...I'm a hunter....That was an easy equip :)

Been playing since release. Three 70s. Over 200 total days /played. I have never seen a world-drop epic drop. I've bought them off of the AH, yeah, but never had one drop for me, or any group of which I was a part. Blizzard's random number generator hates me.

I have only ever seen two World Epics drop... Both were from the Azshara demons, both from the same camp, both Shadowblades and both within 8 hours of each other... Co-incidence? I will never know. But I can tell you that I've spend MANY MANY MANY hours farming those exact same demons hoping for another one... Eh, but whats 100g for a < 60 epic BOE now anyway? I can mine 2 stacks of Adamantite in 30 minutes and prospect 3 blue gems for the same return...

My first seen drop was an epic sword/dagger at Uldaman mid-late last year.
The next was an epic gun that dropped from a scarlet at a Strat Live I was two manning, post BC.
In recent times I've started Kara so epics are becoming a little more commonplace.
Oh, someone I was grouped with got a Choker of Repentance a couple of weeks ago from a mob at Netherstorm.
I'm yet to win an epic item. The only epics I own or have owned are from rep, or pvp.

I have a combined of 120++ days played and I've seen about 5 world drop epics in groups, but NEVER in solo :O

1 year with 2 chars at 70th, one at 50th, 4 at 35th and a couple of lowbies.
I've had ONE epic drop - Flurry Axe dropped by a deadwood furbolg in felwood. Happened only 2 weeks ago.

I only got a Taran Icebreaker while farming undead in Western Plaguelands. Very useful for a Warlock. I transferred it to Alliance via the Gadgetzan AH (at the time the only inter-faction AH available) and managed to sell it to some Paladin.
