PTR: Images of Illidan in the wild

Many of us have been curious to see just how Illidan would look when he was actually in-game as opposed to data-mined from the PTR client and then previewed through the WoW model viewer. Well, several brave souls from the PTR have managed to locate him in the Black Temple and have sent back the above screen shot of the
The rumor from the peanut gallery says that when he gets to 20%, he despawns saying only "A terrible and costly mistake you have made. It is not my time, mortals."

I like the new voice work on many of the Bosses in TBC. I hope the same effort was made with Illidans Emotes as with his Looks, which are quite 'cool'.
Eitherway, I'm not going to be seeing the Big guy in person pretty much ever at the rate things are going so make little difference how he looks or sounds!

If you haven't seen him in "action" as yet, there's a decent enough compilation of his movements as they were datamined and previewed through the WoW Model viewer:

Although I'd note that you may want to turn the sound up or down depending on if you like Killswitch Engage or not.

well tbh i dont lry like the fact illidans that tall, yes hes a poowerhouse but since when did power in a fantasy universe always relate to size?
in wc3 and wc3 tft he was roughly the size of an average man not the size of a mountain....
im a bit disapointed in that for the rest he looks rly cool
Bugmaster out

You know those gnomes in Steamvaults? Illidan's been eating them, and everyone knows that eating gnomes helps a body grow!

Bugmaster: The reports of his scale are currently unconfirmed, as I don't think anyone's actually made it to his hooves as yet. (I'd imagine that it won't be too much longer, though.)
I can somewhat see the need for him to be at least a bit larger than the rest of the group: have you ever tried click-targetting a mob on the other side of a Wall of Tauren Warrior(s)? (never mind that you should be /assisting off the MT/OT anyway...)

spoiler beware:
from worldofraids.com forum here is a streaming vid of the first part of the encounter... obviously you dont get to see much of the fight since only 1 raid member isnt actually able to get illidan down much in hp...

In the video I saw (posted above as well), he isn't the size of Onyxia. He looks to the be the size of a large tauren... maybe the same ratio as tauren to human.

In other words: "I drop l3wt so 1337, you're not even ready for it yet! YOU ARE NOT PREPARED! Blizzard is waiting for patch TWO POINT EIGHT! Which comes out NEXT JULY! HAHAHAHA!"

Ysona: Thanks for the link to the video! That was exciting to see, and now I have another place to check for cool videos. ;)
Ryan: In the video he still looks fairly large compared to the Warlock in the video above, but certainly not as large as was first reported to me. His size appears more in keeping with the size of many other Outland bosses; slightly larger than Tauren/Dranei size. Imposing, but not as bad as the 'omg! camera angle change!' bosses like Ragnaros.

What is it with this site and screwing up Night/High Elves?

From what I can tell from that video the lock looks about knee high on him. Big but not huge. Given that I've only been playing for about a month, thats the closest I'll get to see him for at least 6 or 8 months (more than likely a year or so)

"The rumor from the peanut gallery says that when he gets to 20%, he despawns saying only 'A terrible and costly mistake you have made. It is not my time, mortals.'"
I remember reading a little something on MMO champion.
SPOILER IF YOU CARE
It said something along the lines of
"You won't kill Illidan in the Black Temple. Maiev Shadowsong will."
END SPOILERZ
i may be wrong though

Just for clarification, since there seems to be some confusion:
The last part about the quote is actually making reference to the old Anachronos, pre-Cavern opening. Many jokes were made on the official forums about how certain things/players/threads would "despawn at 20% saying something about 'it is not my time yet, mortals.'" This is because there was a lot of debate about whether or not you would be able to kill Anachronos after 2.0. It's simply a nod to old WoW forum jokes and early conjecture about content that isn't live yet. (As I was dabbling in it) That's why it's attributed to the "peanut gallery." ;)
As for the slipup on the "High" versus "Night" Elf lineage, my goof on that. I'll be more careful about His Evilness race in the future!
