Reader Flyv of We Know on Eitrigg sends in this stellar shot of one of the many floating islands above Nagrand. But below the most innocent looking apple tree lies a corpse with an axe through its head. What a way to go...
Update: Reader Gallen of Stormscale sends in this speculation on how all this might have happened. (The suspense!)

WOW!! That is awesome! Even more amazing is the partially buried corpse in the floating island in the background. Sheeesh! I can't WAIT until I get my flying mount!

Tricks gone wrong - William later tried hitting the apple with an arrow. His assistants cheered at the reduced casualty rate.

What the hell is with all the critizism? its an Around Azeroth feature where its a picture sent in by someone....that feature has never been about news. just because you have seen it before does not give you the right to automatically call it lame, it just means that you probably spend too much time reading about wow.

anyone ever notice that dead dragon on the spikes in Blades Edge really high up? Its pretty cool...id rather see that than a repeat.

No, you haven't seen it in an Around Azeroth user-submitted post.
We last saw it in a post by mike schramm about various hiddin places only accessible by flying mount.
Not ground breaking, but not flame-worthy either.

Im sure that guy was just so sick of living on the top of that sky island thing, eating only apples and going insane and the like... The druid came by one day and the guy begged to have the druid pwn him.
He spirit rezzed and was fine... but the skeleton remains 0_0

I always wonder why nobody gets the joke with this island. EVeryone knows the story with Sir Isaac Newton, and how he discovered gravity when an apple fell on his head. The skeleton with apples adjacent is obviously a reference to that, however, it seems he was killed before he made the discovery this time. So, no Newton=no gravity, hence the floating islands.
