Nihilum meets Kael'thas, finds new Legendary

Nihilum has made it to see Kael'thas Sunstrider, the end boss in the 25-man raid The Eye (in Tempest Keep), and though they haven't downed him yet, they've come back to tell the tales.
First things first, there's a new Legendary in the game, a two-hand axe called Devastation, with a +50 crit, +150 attack power, and a speed buff of 50% and an attack speed buff of 20% as a chance on hit. Oh, and did I mention that it's got 158.1 DPS on it? I think I just did.
There is a catch, however-- the axe can only be used during the fight with Kael'thas. As for the event itself, Nihilum says "the encounter seems very cool," and it looks like Kael comes with (at least) four adds-- his advisors Thaladred the Darkener, Master Engineer Telonicus, and Grand Astromancer Capernian and Lord Sanguinar.
No mention yet on how they're doing with the encounter, but I'd guess we might see a world first as early as this weekend.

The Twin Blades of Azzinoth you linked aren't even proved to be GM items. The real blades will be a 2 piece sets and have been introduced in the 2.1.0 patch (set ID 699 , check thottbot or wowhead)
Items ID of the two blades of this set are 32837 and 32838, which is different than the one you linked.

Thanks, Bou. The point is that the only weapon that even compares to this axe right now in terms of DPS will never be wielded by a player.
I believe these are the two blades Bou is talking about, but I'm pretty sure this is all speculation at the moment, because of course no one has actually seen any Illidan loot yet.

What a bizarre proc.
I'd complain about the lack of lore and crap name, but it's Kael only, so it's more a buff then anything.

One question i like to know is that, according to the lore, would any BE that fights to Kael essentially be fighting their most revered leader? I mean the whole reason BEs r comin to Outland is to meet up with their leader cause didnt they already know Kael aligned himself with illidan? Or is there some part of the BE story im missing? (i only made it to 24 on any BE).

One question i have is that, according to lore, wouldnt the BEs players comin to outland basicly be fighting their most revered leader? I thought the whole reason BEs came to Outland was to meet up with Kael to recieve power to satisfy their thirst. Wouldnt fighting Kael as a BE be goin lore? Or am i missing some part of the BE story line? (only got a BE up to 24) (sorry if i double posted, my comps not workin right :P)

Mental Note: make sure to grind-up my 2-handed Axe skill....
Dabura Apr 27th 2007 3:01PM
How do you know it can only be used during the encounter with Kael. If thats true then it would say on the weapon desciption like any other item that can only be used in a certain place, eg the AQ40 battle tanks.

See - ret pallies ARE supposed to raid. :)

Dabura: If you noticed the screenshot, the item is bound to the instance (Tempest Keep). If you zone out, you will lose the item. It's very similar to another legendary item that is pretty much only usable in one single encounter, Andonisus, Reaper of Souls

BTW, do you play an Undead Mage on Crushridge named Dabura?

@7
*******SPOLIER**********
I believe I read a spoiler that he has broke ties with Illidian and now is in league with the Legion. I guess that is to make the BE want to break off, but I still think power hungry BE would revere him.

Eh there are several wands with higher DPS:

Oh goodie, another PvE weapon with a totally retarded PvP procc.
Admittedly it'll be impossible to get hold of for most but in arenas that proc is totally freaking ridiculous. 50% runspeed buff?! For a MS Warrior!?
MS warriors are basically pinballs in Arena anyway, slapping on the MS wherever it's needed - with +50% runspeed AND +20% attack speed this weapon would make a MS warrior insanely competent at their job :) No need to wait for intercept to cool down ;)

Whoa, if you go on the Nihilum site, you can see other Legendary weapons they added.
When I saw the druid one I got tears in my eyes
Staff of Disintegration
+75 sta, +50 int,
Equip: +75 spell critical rating, +325 damage and healing, furking +1125 AP (my feral heart swooned) in feral and moonkin forms
Use: mental shield on friend within 30 yd granting immunity to stun, silence and disorienting effects
Too bad I'll never get this for my furry behind :(
Dabura Apr 28th 2007 1:23PM

@15: Miss the fact that this *CANNOT* be used outside of Tempest Keep? It's removed on death, on zone out, etc. These weapons are purely in order to make the raid able to kill Kael by avoiding abilities. It's easier to think of them as physical buffs that have a direct function.

This game has gotten increasingly frustrating. The best guild in the entire world is the only one to even see the last boss of the hardest instance, and yet they are already releasing Black Temple? WTF is this? World of Nihilum? Will they be the only god damn guild able to see these fights?
I garantee you, much more than half of serious raiding guilds haven't even gotten to Serpantine, and are still working on Grull and Magtheradine.
At least 1/3 of raiding guilds are still on Kara.
This is getting ridiculous. Think of the Eye as Naxx, and Black Temple as Naxx squared.
We all know what a debacle Naxx was. As long as Blizzard continues to develop instances that 99.5% of the player population never sees, this game will suck.
