Beep, beep! I'm a Jeep!

I woke up this morning, started reading through the LJ World of Warcraft community, and there was a post there that made me stop and stare. I just couldn't believe my eyes. After all, I have a druid, and I enjoy playing her -- but if my eyes were working correctly, things were about to get very interesting! True, it wasn't quite as good as the suggested Octopus on a Motorcycle form, but it at least had the potential to be really interesting!
As Taishokao pointed out, when you go to the WoW Europe forums here, select druid, and then check out the Gladiator set, you can verify the above screen shot. The druid set 4-piece bonus does indeed currently list a car form. (I don't know how long that's going to take Blizzard to fix, but for now, it still says "car." hehe)
For all the potential funny in that, we know it's a typo. (There again, it's probably just as well, because if we had car forms, I'm relatively sure my noob-feral-druid-self would probably wind up as a Geo Metro. :P ) But that led me to thinking about typos in game. I know I've seen them here and there on quest givers, but I think by far the worst ones I've seen have been from other players. I know I'm guilty of accidentally mis-typing "1 sec" wrong while in the middle of instances which has gotten me picked on a lot. (No, I'm not saying what I typo it as -- this is a family blog!) Personally, I think the one that gets me irked the most is "rouge" for "rogue." Of course, I suspect that's because my main is a rogue, and I can never get the image of the "Moulin" Dark Legacy strip out of my head when someone says that, but I digress...
Are there any typos that have gotten you harassed, picked on, or just irked you when they were repeated over and over? I know I can't be the only one who has messed that kind of thing up. The fact that someone made a comic strip about the rouge/rogue typo tells me I'm not also the only one who's been somewhat amused yet frustrated by it, either. So share yours with the rest of the Insider crew! Have you ever noticed a hilarious typo on an NPC? How about personal typos? Any that get you in trouble with your guilds or that you make you crazy? Vent to the rest of us, or share with us your own personal moment of lol.

Quite frequently I will associate an in game person, place or thing with a sound-alike RL name to help me remember it. For example, I used the name Narcotic Rune for Necrotic Rune, Menthol for the harbor north of IF, Underblog for Underbog, Syphlis for Silithis. I sometimes get a *snicker* when using these in chat and some actually have caught on in the guild and became the name used by everyone.

Oh, come on. I'm a conservative Christian, and even I know that "sex" isn't a four-letter word. :P

What irks me... when people pronounce tier as "Tire" i swear to god i was awiting in line for my copy of TBC and two mentally disfunctional people were behind me bragging about thier tire 2 and tire 3 so i went up to em asked em about the sale at firestone corrected them and slapped em both across the face with my collector's edition.
(P.S. its pronounced "tear")

Year or more ago there was some item in the game that had a typo for Dragon, it said "Dargon". That had our guild chanting "Kill The Dargon" all the way through BWL and beyond!

@JVC8bal (#3)
Do believe that Krystalle was saying that it was referring to the 4 piece bonus, not the whole set... Never said anything about the entire set...

funkiest typo made by blizzard in game.

Until today I still don't know if it's Inner Fire (I accidentally capitalized) or Inner Flare (a deleted "a')
and as for myself, I really can't think of any unique situations...

While I don't have any common typos - this particular one reminded me of an Anime film I saw where the demon familiar the group had (usually a little white dragon) would turn into a jeep when they needed to go somewhere. Apparently a modernization of an old Chinese fable, but funny nonetheless.

Of of course it has to be the Druid helmet.
Ralaya Apr 28th 2007 5:46PM
I remember back when Zul'Gurub first came out, the warrior enchant gave a bonus to "Black Value".

@ Balasan:
Your link answers your own question. It's 'Inner Fire' with the 'I' in 'fire' capitalised.

Trolik says: LFM RFD
Generil says: I'm down for BFD
Frolly says: I'm in
Trolik says: No, its RFD
Frolly says: sry, though you said BRD
Generil says: OK, RFD is cool
Trolik says: screw this, LFM ZF

It wasn't a typo, but while glancing at the TB lfg channel, I thought someone said "lfm Shattered Balls." Of course, a second glanced revealed it was actually "Halls."
Aeneas Apr 29th 2007 1:09PM
Truly it's not a typo, but:
My main rogue's name is "Aeneas", which I thought was a great name for a character. You know, given the mythological Aeneas, hero of the Trojan war and supposed founder of Rome. Star of the Aeneid, of Virgil? I thought everyone knew this.
Yet I constantly get people in groups who claim things like "well look at this guy his name is 'anus'", and even my guildies call me Anus. It's a terribly unfortunate problem when people look at a name as mythologically respectable as "Aeneas" and think that it's an obfuscation of anus.

In my guild everyone has been trying to do heroic runs to get "exhaulted" with the Sha'tar or Cenarion.
I've explained the error at least 6 times now, but that "h" is here to stay!

Here's a couple:
A fellow guildie named Karthag used to get everyone screwed up before our MC runs (KK, in flight to Karthag..... We have a spot open for a Lock, is Kargath interested?, etc.)
pst me plz; plz pst, etc annoys me sometimes - if there's a long string of stuf like that in Trade chat; I'll send out an unsolicited correction. "PST = Please Send Tell, no need for an extra 'please' or 'me'
...but I usually get flamed, alternately for being a nerd and a noob, lol.
Fiery is often butchered to feriy firey firy, etc.
Exalted. No H, no U.
And sometimes I ahve a little fun myself if there's another grammer nazi in chat, with: "I can't stand people with poor grammer, there retarded"
though I'm surprised at how often that slips by ;)
