Screenshots from inside Zul'Aman
![[Troll architecture, making use of spears and skulls since 2004.]](http://www.blogcdn.com/wow.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/zulamanmon.jpg)
Borst from the World of Raids forums has reported back this morning with some screenshots from the other side of the Zul'aman portal on live servers. For those of you not familiar, Zul'Aman is an instance just chock-full o' trolls, much like Zul'Farrak and Zul'Gurub are. Unlike the other two, however, the trolls in Zul'Aman make use of the beefier-looking troll model -- specifically, the Forest Trolls who are currently seen in the south-eastern side of the Blood Elf starting area. It is also, per an interview with Tigole, a L70 raid instance, although I haven't personally seen anything official from Blizzard stating if it's a 25 man or a 10 man as yet.
Still, for all that the post and exploration was limited to just a couple of interior shots, it's interesting to see some small part of it. Although I do think it would be nice if we weren't killing trolls quite so much... Someone might get the idea that all of us trolls are bad, and it would be troll sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria! Then who would ya get to dance 'da capoeira, mon?

Does it seem odd to anyone else that Zul'Aman comes AFTER taking out Kale'thas, Vashj and Illidan? Seems awfully anti-climactic.

I also found it odd that ZA has the sky of Outlands in the video of it.

I think it`s a side-story instance, part of the Troll b-line that ZF, ST (don't forget ST!!), ZG and now ZA is part of (otherwise known as "more trolls?! geez..".

where does this fit in in the "bad guy progression"?
Because its starting to get ridiculous:
Elemental God< Undead mage< High ranking Naga< BElf Prince< Illidan< Trolls!?
They have to have a pretty good final boss in there or something. This seemed kind of odd from the moment they said Black Temple was coming, because Illidan is a freaking beast, nearly took down Arthas, and we down him a few patches into the expat? I'm guessing Azhara for a future raid boss, possibly deathwing or something, but how much can beat out Illidan?

I enjoy the troll storylines myself. I like the jungle and voodoo themese that run through their quests and speech dialogue.
As far as why they would release this stuff alongside content that seems to be of a higher difficulty, i;m not sure but they are releasing a few new 5-man areas with the patch. My guess would be: sure heroics are fine for now, but i've run those places many times before I'm allowed to run them again...when they just hit harder and have a little bit better loot(heroic).
There's only so many times someone can run Kara (the new UBRS) before wanting other content, even if it is no more powerful.
It may seem a little anti-climactic for the people who are already at 70 and fully into raiding, but remember there are always new people levelling up and getting into this stuff for the first time. If I had just hit 70 now, I wouldn't be geared or prepared for SSC - maybe i'd be looking forward to some new gear from Skettis or this new ZA (if it is a 10-man) instead of running Kara.
On a last note: it's always nice to have one more place to raid while you are waiting for your other ones to reset.

yawn, lets see some NEW graphical content instead of rehashing all the architecture from zg and sunken temple! i hope its 10 man and is in line with kara, kara and gruul alone are way too boring and take about 2 days to complete.

Last I heard, this place is intended to be the next 10-man instance for level 70s. Perfect for guilds that are doing Kara, but might not be big enough to do the 25-man stuff.
So far I love the 10-man content, so more is fine with me.

Can we please see some new non-end game content? I was really hoping Zul'Aman would be a level 15-20 instance, which would be a perfect level, given its location, and provide an alternative to running WC for the thousandth time.

I wonder if they are going to put in a flight path to get here or something. Otherwise you are going to have a lot of alliance players having to schlep up through plaguelands and ghostlands to get to ZA and I predict lots of baby blood elfs getting ganked.
Baluki Apr 30th 2007 8:00PM
Well, Ghostlands is Horde territory, right? So there's not really much danger of lowbie belf ganking, unless they're stupid enough to flag. And of course it's not a problem on Normal servers.
I'm really looking forward to ZA, though I'm still pretty disappointed that it's just another troll-killing instance. I'm sure we'll get to encounter Zul'jin, but I REALLY hope we don't have to kill him. I'm getting pretty bummed out that so many awesome characters have to die in BC.
Does anyone know what the storyline of ZA is? I doubt it has much/anything to do with the ST/ZG storyline, since that one ends with you killing Hakkar for good. Personally, I think it has something to do with the Scourge. Looking at those screen shots, you can see that there are cobwebs everywhere; not exactly something you'd expect in a bustling city.
I think it's possible that the Scourge has taken over most of the city. They're still pretty active in that area. I can't think of a reason why the Amani trolls would be such a big threat, so it seems likely that you're actually HELPING them take back the city, not killing them. I can see the Alliance just slaughtering them outright, but not the Horde. Well, not the Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren.
Baluki Apr 30th 2007 11:11PM
I don't think ZA is supposed to be tougher than BT or Hyjal. I think it's supposed to be a step up from Karazhan, but still easier than the 25-man content.
Also, you forgot a few steps in your little chain:
Elemental God < Black Dragon < Old God < Undead Mage < High Ranking Naga < Belf Prince < Archimonde? < Illidan
(Yes, Archimonde is tougher than Illidan, but you've got a lot more help taking Archie down. Like the combined might of the Horde, Alliance, and Night Elves.)

"Can we please see some new non-end game content? I was really hoping Zul'Aman would be a level 15-20 instance, which would be a perfect level"
on most servers before the xpac the 60's population was half or more of the servers pop. and new players in there 20's arn't more likely too get bored of the exsisting content and leave.
and there is an alternative too WC it's called the deadmines (or van cleef).

Oh Great! More chances to get frogged!

New Graphical Content? I've posted something on the WoW Suggestions Forum that I hope Blizzard will develop.

Just posting it because someone said something like "Can we please see some new non-end game content? I was really hoping Zul'Aman would be a level 15-20 instance, which would be a perfect level, given its location, and provide an alternative to running WC for the thousandth time."
