Breakfast Topic: Betting on patch 2.1

Another week, another Tuesday maintenance. And it's not even a rolling restart week! So here we are all twiddling our thumbs and waiting for the servers to come back online. And, alas, while we've all no doubt been having fun playing with patch 2.1 on the test realms, we do know that today isn't the day. Of course this only leaves us with lots of room for speculation -- so I'm asking you, good readers, when do you think patch 2.1 will be headed towards the live realms? The patch has been running on the test realms since April 13th, which means next Tuesday's maintenance will be approaching the 4-week mark that I always use as a general guideline for patch releases. But Blizzard has been known to surprise even me. So let's hear your predictions -- when do you think we'll see patch 2.1 on the live realms?

I am looking forward to seeing if BEASTMASTER hunters are really plausible in raids. TO those of you complaining about being nerfed, as usual it is part of playing mmo. I feel for you but we've all taken our shots over the years now (and sometimes we get buffed up bot nobody ever get as vocal about that). Don't sweat it too much.

@4 BM hunters will never do well in raids, period. Pets die too easily and healer's won't bother keeping them up. It's a ghost, give it up.

@6 Pets now have a new trainable abillity that is supposed to keep them out of boss AOE attacks. This is specifiaclly designed to counter the reasons you gave against it. I am not saying this will bu a sure fix, bt certainly looks promissing. I guess I should have staed that but I assumed mny of you read wowinsider alot and have seen news of this before.
Truth is if my pet is alive I gain a proc that increases my entire parties damage by 2%, and my attack speed by 12%. This is ontop of the already 20% attack speed gained from bm tree. It really adds up in a 31 20 or 31 17 3 build.
People used to say Shadow Priests and Feral Druids were a dream too...

If you want a real answer to the patch release date, get a copy of the fiscal calendar. 2.1 will be released before the end of their fiscal quarter.

I'm just trying to finish my quests in Netherstorm, mainly because my quest log has been full for weeks. I've already finished the quests from Shadowmoon valley and with the new quests for the Consortium and the Netherwing, I want to have room for those (not to mention Skettis and Orgri'la).

If a BM Hunter is out-DPSing a MM it's only becasue the MM is coasting along on a shit shot rotation or is an overall terrible player. Like 95% of all Hunters

2 weeks. Hey the realms are down and they have nothing to do, give them a break about 2 2.1 posts :). Of course, they never even replied to an email i sent them about the bad google home page tool they have (that i think is rss) and how the text bleeds over and out of the window onto the other articles. Anyone else have that issue? I have to reload the screen several times to fix it. It's only with wow Insider. Im thinking its because of the pictures they put in it.

BM is actually a pretty high damage spec, plausible in raids as well, even moreso now with these new pet skills. MM isn't that great anymore, Survival is better raid DPS once you hit about 550 unbuffed agi (with good gear) and BM isn't too shabby either. All 3 trees are viable now, it's all up to playstyle.

@7 - The shadoweave set is getting a small debuff which amounts to about -10 DPS off a lock with +1100 dmg. There's masive overreaction on the forums about it. I haven't heard of any other changes to tailoring.

On the advice of BRK and other BM Hunters who rave about the BM build, I switched my spec to from MM/Surv to BM.
And my stats went right into the crapper. The 41/20/0 build netted me a loss of 4% crit and nearly 60dps, lost my ability to trap effectively and my pet got very little extra buffage to compensate.
Sorry, not buying into this until I see better numbers.

BM hunters dont belong in raids neither do balence druid ret pallys, there are some off-specs that are actually helpfull in raids feral druids or shadow priests(probably considered on spec now) but even if bm hunters are putting out good dps there utiilty is gone and if they are bm pets arnt viable in raids yes they have some reduced aoe dmg but since no healer will heal a pet it will maybe take 3 extra aoe's not worth it. I am currently in a SSC we dont allow any off-spec players to even app right now some tree's for players are stronger then other ones. Those are the specs we want in raids GG.

okay, im going o reply with 2 characters here, my MM huter, and my Balance druid
first my hunter, short and simple, MARKS is the winning table for these guys, plain and simple, right now im outputting 170 DPS (im lvl 60BTW) and my pet is at 82 DPS currenty, before any skills, for information unseenchaos, wildhammer... AotH and aura on.
as for my Balance Druid, im not sure of DPS, and he is only 42, but I dont have exact stats (im not choc full of addons but i have damagemeter cus it rocks) but the other day I did an SM cath run with a group all 41-42, sure its low whatever this is beyond the point....but according to the damage meter, I had done 40.12% of the groups total damage, when the tank got D/Ced and 2 others died, I hopped dire bear, moonkin, and caster forms healing, tanking, and dpsing, (thus i theoretically off-tanked) and was the only class with any possible healing, thus topping off that meter whenever someone needed heals as well. I dont care if everyone says that changes in end game...for now im good, and plan on staying that way + raid casters, who wants to deny a bonus 5% crit...
when i topped that DPS chart...i only had 10% crit for spells (i had just switched from resto to balance and was feral before just to try and find where i fit in) and well...multiple wrath crits = 1sec cast for 400-500 damage each.
