Around Azeroth: Flying draenei!

Draenei don't naturally fly, as best I can tell. They don't, after all, have wings or any other obvious mechanisms of flight. However, reader Genso of Hyjal sends in this shot of what can only be described as a flying draenei. He claims it's some sort of quest, but I'm not so sure -- who knows what kind of technology those crafty draenei brought with them to Azeroth... Watch out, draenei, I'm on to your secrets!

It's part of the Call of Air questline in lvl 30, where shamans get their Air Totem. I took a screenshot at exactly that moment too! :P

Yeah....shammy Wind totem quest.
A very large wind elemental casts this spell on you to send you back to the Exodar rather than making you walk all the way back home or hearthing.
And if that wasn't enough, he gives you your totem without having to complete some long, drawn out task like the other 3 did.
Very nice guy.

I took screens of this too. I wanna take it a step further though. Obviously Air Elementals can make you fly, so how about an epic flying mount for shammy's that isn't a mount at all. You could call it summon air elemental and be zipping around Azeroth like Superman. They already have the animation for it. Someone petition Blizz!!

I have to agree with Derbeste, it's one of the nices questgivers ever, not only does he give you a flight home (Elemental Airlines at your service!) and does he allow you to get your airtotem fairly easy, he also gives you a buff with increased walking speed and increased attack speed for one hour! :)

Baranokc, it's the same for Horde, there is no Air totem quest, you get the same 1 hour buff. No flying, but I don't see how that makes it easy mode.

There is a Scryer quest that disguises the player as a Blood Elf...so perhaps there is an Aldor equivalent quest that makes you look like a Dranei? My wife plays a druid and she is Scryer. She could use flight form as the disguised Blood Elf. She even waited a while before turning in the quest just so she fly around like a Blood Elf superman a little longer, lol ...so maybe the screenshot is the same thing. A silly druid showing off in flight form while wearing a dranei disguise. /shrug

Ah, so they never bothered to make an Air Totem questline for Alliance either? I don't know how I feel about that.
Sure, long quests can be a pain, but they usually net you some quality XP, cash, loot, and in this case, new spells (look at that as another cash bonus, since you don't have to pay for it).
I was really disappointed to have the Air Totem guy just hand me mine when I did it over 2 years ago, especially since class quests are usually pretty cool. I guess they never went back and added the questline, so they apparently felt like they didn't need to do one for the Draenei either. Sigh.
