WoW Moviewatch: Rogue solos Van Cleef
While the title of this post may not seem that amazing, the actual video and character used are impressive. Theotwink of Malygos has twinked his character's basic gear, causing his dodge rate to exceed 100%. At level 10 (base level to enter the Deadmines) his high-level allies helped clear him to Van Cleef, where the showdown began. In what I can only guess was an excruciatingly long and probably boring fight, given all the guild/tell chat that was taking place, Theotwink emerges victorious over Van Cleef and his adds that he calls during the fight.

WoW people really just have too much free time apparently. I did not even want to make the time to watch the whole video. :)
Blargg May 7th 2007 3:35PM

Loiselaid May 7th 2007 4:20PM
ZOMG my buddy made it to WoW insider!!!! Woohoo!! Right on!
Jonny McCormack May 7th 2007 4:30PM
Wow... that was boring as hell.
Impressive maybe...

1) Hey guys, Theotwink here. The fight took 40 minutes total from the pull to having all the adds dead.
2) Blargg, yes I do wsg a bit, I have about 1.2k HK's and 60 marks (still need to pick up my tabard).
3) Hi loise!

Wow.
I'm impressed that anyone could have enough patience to fight a mob for 40 minutes. I was leveling the 1H mace skill on my 49 pally today and after the 10 minutes it took to get to 200, I was pretty bored. Still got another 45 skill pionts to get :(
Nice music on the video. What is it?
Kyle May 7th 2007 6:27PM
Wow, that a good 40 minutes of your life your never going to get back. Though it was impressive, its still 40 minutes. You can do a lot of things in 40 minutes...
;)
Theorime May 7th 2007 6:41PM
Heh, while 40 minutes is a long time, its not so bad when you are chatting with your friends the whole time =P
And the music was "My heads in mississippi" by ZZ Top
Trancet May 7th 2007 6:58PM
SnD would have rally up'd your damage

Okay, what else do we need to say that Rogues are OP? A level 10 can, with time, take out a 25-ish Elite.
Tuberon May 7th 2007 8:01PM
@10
Paladin reck-bomb video, anyone?
This video should have the same effect and get rogues nerfed.
Theorime May 7th 2007 9:02PM
Its already getting nerfed, I only have 58.95% dodge on the PTR, a little over 62% if I change my setup (losing 90hp)
rizzuh May 7th 2007 9:09PM
so with 105% dodge does that mean that you dodge everything and never get hit? or does it work differently?
Theorime May 7th 2007 10:05PM
I cant dodge forever if something greatly outlevels me :/ I wish though, lol
Harlequinné May 7th 2007 10:33PM
Impressive...
One question: Durability?
Theorime May 7th 2007 10:47PM
What about the durability? Are you asking how much I lost? /confused
Mel May 8th 2007 10:03AM
Oh, my. I hope you didn't catch carpal tunnel syndrome during that fight...
Great choice of music. *digs out her old ZZ Top stuff*

Just shows how screwed up the mechanics are.
I did a test again with a friend`s alt in DM; lv70 priest in DM shouldn`t get hit. Why? I know a priest isn't a melee god by any stretch, but at 50+ levels above the mobs in there, they shouldn't be able to hit me (dodge rating per level, 350 defense etc). What happens instead? I'd run through and aggro as many as I could see, lv18 non-elite miners could still hit me about 80% of the time.
Now we have a lv10 twink with a very high dodge rating and he's not taking a single hit. It doesn't make sense; yes he should dodge everything when fighting mobs of his own level, but VC is 10 levels higher than he is and he's still dodging everything. Good job Blizz.
