Getting your addons 2.1 compatible
In expectation of the coming patch (though it might still be a while), Curse has posted a compiled list of all their known 2.1 compatible addons. Unfortunately, that list is of Curse-only addons, so while both KLHThreatmeter and Healbot are on there, lots of other high profile addons are not. That doesn't mean they won't be 2.1 compatible, however-- it just means that, well, in most cases we don't know. Titanbar (an addon I live by) was updated after the last big patch, but hasn't yet been updated for the new one. It's the same story with Auctioneer. CTMod hasn't mentioned 2.1 yet, but they update pretty quickly, and even if they don't get a new version out before the patch appears, it's very likely the latest version (v2.001) will still work.
Since I'm not an addon creator, I'm not sure how much functionality is changing in 2.1, but from what I can make of the UI Forum, it won't be nearly as much as the expansion patch did. There may be a few problems (ui.worldofwar.net has a short list of known problematic addons on the PTR), but for the most part, we can probably expect 2.1's addon changes to go pretty smoothly. You'll still have to manually enable your addons (since they'll all be out of date), but chances are none of them will be really broken.

The last patch broke my add-ons so I never replaced them. Playing "naked" isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I may leave it like this.

I use MazzleUI now, and as long as they get their compilation updated, that's the only download I'll have to worry about :-)

last time I did addon clean-up I noticed a bunch of "Blizz" folders in my addon folder. If I accidentally delete one of those will it reload automatically or will I have to go hunt it down?

There are compilations on that list that use alot of the addons I use like CT and Fubar, looks like they are going to work. :)

So is there no 2.1 patch today?

Martineau, nope, not today.

Blizzard's addons should auto reload if you delete them, at least that's been my experience.
As to UIs in general, I run an Ace2 centered build with a few other odds and ends. In general, if you stick with those, no patch will completely break your addons, although it might get a little glitchy.

It's a hassle to get my UI (since it's totally custom) back to normal... I'm not big on the larger compilations, but I do enjoy CT, Titan... I haven't updated Auctioneer/Discord (are they even updated) since BC came out...
All I want to see in the world of mods is a global 'Settings/Profile Import' option in every mod that's produced... I pushed for CT to implement it, and they finally gave in. w00t! Who wants to play different characters on different servers with completely different UIs? Small changes here and there with or without additional mods are ok, other things are static between characters.

People still use titan?

afaik titanpanel is no longer being developed actively since a very long time ago.. you might want to switch to fubar... if a titanpanel was updated it was just a matter of changing the toc version number and someone uploading it to curse, however people still make modules for titanpanel which I don't understand at all...
