Method Man and Vashj
As a society we are not always interested in seconds. We prefer firsts, the first man to walk on the moon, the first man to swim the English Channel, heck even the first woman got plenty of notice in her day. And yes, Nihilum did managed to down Lady Vashj first, but I have been following the story of the second guild to kill the snake-headed wench, and I am happy to report their day has finally come. For those of you not obsessed with minutia the way I am, the guild Method from the Sylvanas (EU) realm killed Lady Vashj on May 5th. Something happened though that makes this kill more interesting than just any old world 2nd. The encounter bugged out and the guild, after all their hard work, lost the chance at looting the corpse. That's right folks, imagine watching Lady Vashj's corpse despawn in front of your very eyes. I know I would cry wet, salty tears.
Naturally members of the guild contacted a GM, but to no avail. It was a whole day before the guild finally got resolution. They did get a mail message though that told them that their loot would indeed be delivered. World of Raids says Method received a Krakken-Heart Breastplate and Gauntlets of the Crestfall amongst other things. Congrats to them for getting their just rewards. If you're interested in learning more details about the fight, Method will be interviewed by WoW Radio on May 13th at 12:30 EST. I'm sure they'll have some fascinating insights.

"Second comes right after first"..
It's good to know that really serious gamers are getting down tough content, announcing their skill and dedication to the world. I myself am a competitive middle distance runner, and I can equate the long miles and hard training to the type of dedication it takes to be an end game raider. People don't generally look at these guys and applaud them as sportsmen and women, but they are achieving something that 8 million gamers can relate to, and in that sense they are celebrities in their own right, riding on the back of their own dedication to something that is important to them.
Despite this, nothing beats the satisfaction of taking down a Boss first time with my own guild. Though our aspirations are limited to much earlier end game content, our dedication is still significant in relation to the time we have available as older gamers with many real world commitments such as work and family.
In the future, we may only be the 500th guild to see Lady Vashj's contorted corpse despawn before our collectively horrified eyes, I know when it does happen, the satisfaction will be as potent to us as it is to Nihilium or Method.

ehm... Buzz Aldrin wasn't the first man to walk on the moon; that was Neil Armstrong. (Adrin was second)

Why are people counting Nihilum's bugged out kill as a world first? Lady V killed herself, even they have said as much.
Congrats Method on the first legit kill.

It's less likely that D&T are slacking and more likely that they don't want to bother with gathering an army of warlock alts to soul stone the entire raid, as clearly visible in the screenshots and videos, for each attempt. Or maybe they don't want to potentially exploit the encounter, like Method, by using Fear Ward to make their tank entirely fear-immune, since the fear pulse is currently bugged not to consume Fear Ward.

LAWL @8.
Legit kill when fear ward isnt consumed after a fear? Both were bugged, but still nice work
