Fun with guild meetings

My guild is coming up on its next guild meeting here in a few days. As it's the first one we've been able to have for some time due to scheduling problems and other things, we are really hoping that we can make it fun for all who attend it, no matter the level. Previously, we've done things like all-guild PVP in the Gurubashi arena, and a "Running of the Bulls" type events like the ones that have happened on several servers. Our version involved most of our people rolling a Tauren of any class, and then proceeding to run from Mulgore to Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands wearing nothing but a green holiday shirt, and using no abilities/spells/etc. (my favorite name was "EatMorChikn") This time, we think we've hit something a bit more fun to do, but just as potentially deadly.
Our original intent was to get everyone out to Shattrath and use our flying mounts to play Nogginfogger Roulette. The problem is that this would have prevented all of our under 70 members from being able to play. That wasn't going to work, because the whole point of the meetings is to spend time together, no matter the level. As such, the officers checked the in-game event calendar, and set our meeting for this Saturday when the Darkmoon Faire is open in Mulgore. Those who can get the elixir will stock up, and using the cannon at the faire, we'll have our competition! The idea for the game is this...
1. Strip your gear off and launch yourself out of the cannon at the faire.
2. Drink a Nogginfogger Elixir and see if you get lucky enough to get the Light As A Feather buff as opposed to turning into a skeleton or shrinking.
3. Profit -- in laughs, at least!
And before anyone asks, yes, we think it's a riot when we abuse the hell out of our characters at these kinds of events. When we're in groups, we're all business. Any death is looked upon as a reason to review tactics and improve. So guild meetings give us the chance to cut loose and just be completely silly together. We also use the meetings and events to make sure the lower-level members know who the endgame raiders and guild officers are. The intent is so they feel like they're a valued part of the guild and to reinforce there is a spot with the endgamers for them once they work up through the ranks.
How about you? Does your guild get everyone together to discuss "business" but then end it by doing something fun together? Or are you all serious business? For that matter, do you even have guild meetings, or is everything just understood and there is really no need for them?

I've had a few guild meetings, it's just usually on vent or in guild chat. I guess we could get to together, but it's sort of a side thing. If we are discussing business, it seems like fun would be left out of the equation. I hang out with my guild members all the time. Waiting for a BG to pop, dueling outside Shattrath (it's the new place to duel!), and helping out with quests.
Besides, the one time we played Noggenfogger Roulette, I just used flight form at the end!

Most fun I've had in a guild meeting: Stormwind hide-and-seek (Underwater breathing + canal district ftw).

Guild meetings are a rare thing for us, we tend to use our website to talk, joke around, and vote on things. You know what, though... I think I'm going to organize stuff like this now. It sounds like a lot of fun and right up our alley.

Aw, I thought it'd be a general craziness topic. I have one for that, but not for a guild.
A real-life friend of mine plays, and we like to have fun sometimes. Know the Twin Colossals Scam in Feralas? You get ported to the top, but have to buy a chute to get down. My friend and I are Dwarves, so we added an (in-game) alcoholic twist.
Bring about 5-10 beers each. Go to the edge(waterfall edge to be safe). Drink 5-10 beers(enough to be completely smashed, so the screen is completely blurry). Then mount up, and jump off. Now it's a game of chicken. Try to dismount and use the Parachute as late as you can without dying. The first time, I lost. And let me tell you, nothing kills a buzz like death.
I'm sure a variation on that could be done for guilds. Maybe using Thunder Bluff for Horde.

We've played "darts" from the Twin Colossals. One person is the target - they jump first. Then everyone else jumps and whoever lands/splats closest to the "target" corpse wins!

Krystalle, your guild sounds so cool. The 2 guilds I've been in, although nice enough, never did anything together, and really weren't that social or helpful. I don't suppose you have a chapter on Azgalor? lol ;-)

1) Get your guild together
2) Buy Noggenfogger
3) ???
4) Profit

My guild for fun will meet up at Zul'Gurub and plow our way through STV and Darkshire up to Westfall and kill everything in our path (Flight Masters included). Normally after about 10 minutes up there, we get swarmed by tons of ally 70's and near 70's , and then comes the long ride back (fighting the entire way).

is a horde guild on the Trollbane server. One time we did a massive Bar fight in ThunderBluff. Guildies will just /duel any guildies just using their bare fist. Then after we followed one person did the train...to the bottom of TB
here is the gallery

I'm still putting together the gallery for this one, but we've done another one in April where we all dress as pirates (Deviate Fish) and raided Loch Modan and Wetlands.
We try to organize a guild event every month or two to bring together guildies with differnt level brackets.

Sounds like a blast Krystalle!
You know, you should try playing dodge ball with your guild once, it's hilarious! Just get some leather balls, get team shirts (the silk colored ones) and find a good spot to play. My guild organises events like this on a regular base and it really strengthens the bond between guildies.
Below is a pictuer of our first ever tournament ;)

As for guild meetings, they usually end in the bar O:)

Our last guild meeting was a White Elephant Christmas party held in Anvilmar, the trainer building in the gnome/dwarf starting area.
Other things we do as a guild are naked lvl 1 races across continents and guild pvp gankfests through horde areas. On of our most fun guild pvp runs was a raid on Undercity. Tons o' fun.

No guild meetings. Low level members arnt in our guild. Get 70 or Get out! lol
Lori May 10th 2007 6:03PM
No guild meetings here either except in the officers vent chat room when they were deceiding what to do when insufficient ppl showed up for an MC raid. Would we run ZG or AQ20 or just give up for the night.
Trucido May 10th 2007 9:58PM
Last night we did MC. Although this limits the fun to higher levels. We had a couple of the lower levels join us on TeamSpeak though, where the real fun was had. Heh, we even had one half of the Thunderfury drop off Garr!
We've also done Ony and ZG, and looking to move into BWL and Naxx. So that should be fun.
So maybe they technically aren't meetings, but zerging something that we used to struggle through is definite fun.

There are a couple of similar events on German realms that are organized regularily.
For example:
The army of pink gnomes - approx. 1000-1500 gnomes trying to raid one of the 4 dragons and then rushing OG. Here's a shot at Grom'Gol:

Also, there is a similar event called "Tauren Race" from Mulgore to Undercity (through Blackrock) with approx. 300-500 lvl 1 Tauren.

A tailor in our guild donated a 20 slot bag and we're thinking of a ways to give it away. Noggenfogger Roulette seems perfect for this. Just random, stupid fun. But why do you have to be 70? Couldn't you just jump from Tanaris into Un'Goro Crater? Seems like it would accomplish the same effect. Can a 15K-HP warrior survive that fall (though suppose he could go naked)? Maybe only your +40 levels would be able to participate, but that's not too bad and makes up the vast majority of the serious players in a guild anyways.
