Arena titles revealed
I've just got a small news update today, while the 2.1 background downloader chugs away. When last we spoke of Arenas, Drysc didn't know what exactly the Arena titles would be, nor what percentages of people would get them. Wonder no more, for here they are:Q: What ranks can we earn?
A: There will be 4 titles total for players to earn. The ranking needed for each Arena title is as follows: (Rankings are based by Battlegroup):
% - .5%: Gladiator (and Armored Nether Drake sent in mail)
.5% - 3%: Duelist
3% - 10%: Rival
10% - 35%: Challenger
Sadly, I'm fairly sure my PvP skills are not elite enough to even make me a Challenger. Oh, and by the way, the Armored Nether Drake requires
These titles are nice and all, but seeing as PvE is my main focus, I'd like to see some more PvE-oriented titles, along the lines of "Scarab Lord." Maybe special titles for raiders who are at the forefront of a realm's progression, or for killing a bazillion of a certain type of mob, or completing every quest in a zone. In general, I'd like to see WoW take some inspiration from LoTRO's excellent titling system. What titles would you like to see?

it seems like for PvE the trophies are tabards, it seems like every faction gives you one at exalted and many special quests give you a tabard.
The PvP titles take an entire arena season to earn and only a few earn them, the only PvE equivilant was the Scarab Gong which only like 1 to 5 people on the server could possibly do. The only other chain worthy would be the Neitherwing Chain, but you get an epic mount and maybe a tabard for that.

Ridding skill only goes up to 300, not 375.

I would love to see a title for those of us that have gone the extreme lengths to make it from exalted with aldor to exalted with scryer, or vice versa. Mabey Faction Spy or Undercover Agent or something to that effect. I mean in essence we did really betray those that held us highly in regards from 1 faction to defect to the other side.

I wonder if you have to have played in a certain number of games for that team that season.
Well theres two reasons:
1) its a bit harsh to not give somebody a title just because they joined the team mid season
2) My guildmates in the top 2.5% of my battlegroup and i really want the duelist title for free (he has a spot :D)

Brasson - Slayer of Clefthoofs. Or Clefthooves. Seems like I've killed enough of them for leatherworking.

Great great...
I was wondering one thing, - how do you check which % you are in your battlegroup? Would appriciate an answer on this :> Is it like top10 in 2vs2, 3vs3, 5vs5 or how does it work?

@1 scarab gong is way more elite than being in the top .5 percent of arena teams imo.
I read the story of the first guy to ever do that on Medivh server he was like a celebrity. He initiated an event that was being prepared for for weeks, attracted hundreds of players, and made a permanent change in the world (opened up the new instances).
I think that getting titles for excellent raid progression would work but only if they implimented some decay like they did with the old PVP system, like you kill Illidan and everyone in your raid gets the title "ruler of outland" for a week.
I also think you should get PVE titles from monumental achievements, like downing raid bosses as opposed to being in the top .5% advanced guilds. The whole percentile thing is competitive in nature, which goes hand in hand with PVP. PVE on the other hand is all about team work and achieving great things together, like downing raid bosses. So reward the best PVE players for their PVE style achievements.

WoW should use both the Title system and the Deed system from Lotro. Including scores of deed 'quests' would go a long way towards fixing the horrid lull of levels 21-57.

"but seeing as PvE is my main focus, I'd like to see some more PvE-oriented titles"
Of course.
Everyone wants to have the best from both sides of the fence. Sounds the same to me as: "I'm a raider and I want cool titles like the PvP people, but I don't want them to have equivalent gear."
It's always the same. Seeing as how ___ is my focus, i'd like to see more cool things for me.

I for one would love to have a "Bloodsail Admiral" next to my name...YARR!

Ben1778: I'm all for PvPers having access to equivalent gear. I want more cool stuff for everyone.
Lask Jun 19th 2007 7:43PM
King of Dire Maul Lask for completing DM North, Defias Lord Lask for completing Deadmines.
I think PvE titles would be great.
