Breakfast Topic: Would you change your race?

The other night we finished the Path of Conquest quest chain in Shadowmoon, and I found myself running around blasting Colossi as a Blood Elf. It was fascinating to see what I would look like if I had rerolled my character, something I consider on and off just for fun.
Often times we get a chance to respec our talents. What if we could respec our race? If there was a free chance to reselect your character's race, would you choose differently? I know despite the faction shift the Blood Elf race is looking very tempting after playing a human for so long.

Let's see... If that were to happen I would be:
* An undead warlock (currently gnome)
* An undead rogue (currently nelf)
* A tauren druid (currently nelf)
* A blood elf paladin (currently human)

Sucks to have friends who chose to play alliance exclusively. Horde racials are so much better. :P

Well, if I could change gender, I would.
Paladin Tier 4 is pink
Paladin Tier 4 is purple
Looks better on a girl ;)

the one thing that would be really nice is if we could change are hair and stuff life that. changing the race of your cariture would be a bit.. crazy, and could mess the game up. like if some one rolled Night Elf but then switched to Undead it would crate an unbalance on the servers.

I would switch all my characters to horde, their racials are just plain unfair.
Currently:
Nelf Hunter
Human Paladin
Human Mage
Wish I was:
Tauren Hunter
Blood Elf Paladin
Undead Mage
I have to be alliance to play with my friends though, so I will keep my stupid ass racials.

No way, i love my gnomies

DW Female Blood Elf Fury Warrior rulz. At least till the end of the Q. The cool part of that Q was that the disguise keeps ur armor and weapons, unlike most other disguises that just turn you in something else.
Blizz really should put craftable disguises.
RogueJedi86 May 22nd 2007 8:29AM
Savory Deviate Delight is a craftable disguise, the recipe's just hard to find.

I play a Night Elf Druid, but I sure wish I got the rep bonus of a human. I'd be willing to become a human druid if such a thing existed just for the rep bonus.

Old Hillsbrad puts most(?) races into a human disguise.

She's kinda cute like that.
I have a middling undead warlock that I'd consider changing to a BElf... but no, I dunwanna change sides - I love the Horde.

i love my gnome mage, id keep him the same but change his hair and stuff.
my human warrior would definitely get a race respec, humans are boring. Gnome all the way!
Brad May 22nd 2007 8:52AM
Respeccing your race would be one of the best things they ever implemented. I would so love to go Gnome!
RogueJedi86 May 22nd 2007 8:42AM
That's a big change, from Tauren to Human. Does it only do it for human races, or would my Dwarf turn human too?
To address it though, if they'd do a balance pass on racials to make the other races' racials on par with the Draenei and Blood Elves, I wouldn't mind being a Dwarf. I love being a Dwarf, but little things like useless racials do get to you.

I would definately change my main's race if I could.
When I started out, I rolled a paladin because they were my favorite class from D&D and Final Fantasy XI. While levelling, I soon learned how utterly moronic the people on the Alliance can be. I rolled a Tauren Druid and only faced a handful of morons (face it: there are morons no matter where you go.), whereas the rest of the Horde players were quite intelligent and actually helpful. With the Burning Crusade, I longed for a magical button that could turn my human paladin into a blood elf (I'm a slow leveller, rerolling a BE wouldn't get me anywhere), especially after learning my boyfriend's guild is in need of a few holy paladins.
Oh well, WTB [Orb of Deception].

Umm, @#8, last time I checked BElf (Blood Elf) were Horde...so changing from Undead to Blood Elf would't change your alligence any...
Addie May 22nd 2007 8:47AM
@10 Old Hillsbrad: It might do it for everyone except humans... would Dwarves have been out of place in Hillsbrad 7 years ago?
master_marcello May 22nd 2007 8:48AM
I'd totally do that.
i have a 70 troll(for some reason) shaman.
the racials suck, i initally picked him when i was new to the game and pciked him for his tall lanky and jamacian accent.
but now at 70 i totally wish i could re race him, to tauren. i acutally consider all the time making another shaman (tauren of course) and twinking him up at 49, and eventuallyl leveling him all the way to 70 having the tauren as my enhancement and the troll as my resto/elemental.

I'd rather change my character's gender so my wife gets off my back about having female toons!
Tigraine May 22nd 2007 8:51AM
I would switch all my characters to Humam due to the Diplomacy Racial.
It's just that mutch easier to get Rep in Outland on a Human. And Man i know what I'm talking about.
My new Main (Human Warrior) hast already 4 Outland Factions exalted while my NE Rogue (with a lot more played) hast only 2.
pasta May 22nd 2007 9:08AM
I would only change race if I could roll an Undead Paladin. Deathknights for the win.
Awann May 22nd 2007 9:00AM
@1 and 4
Re-roll friends, problem solved
