Orphans of the damned

Children's Week is one of my favorite holidays in WoW, along with Halloween and the Fire Festival. Last year I dragged my little orc into so many places, I thought the Child Protective Services of Azeroth would come to arrest me. I even took him to Molten Core, where no one should ever have to go. So I was really looking forward to doing the new Outland orphan quests.
My blood elf girl, Salandria, wanted to see Sporeggar, the Throne of the Elements, and the Dark Portal. All reasonable requests, although I'd think that a blood elf kid would want to see Tempest Keep and the Black Temple a little more. She was even kind of nice about it, although she did say I smelled funny. Then I took her to Azeroth, and things got weird.
First, she wanted to go to the Caverns of Time. When she got there, she wanted a toy dragon. I set off to buy her a dragon, when ... she was attacked by the Wardens of Time. Zaladormu, the head dragon guy, called them off and told them that she "will not be held accountable for what she might do, or fail to do, in the future." Then, when I got her her toy dragon, she told me she planned to own a real one someday. Hmm. Was my orphan some sort of future evildoer? It looked like the draenei kids were getting the same treatment, so maybe the Wardens of Time just hate kids.
After that, Salandria decided she wanted to be a Blood Knight and asked to go to Silvermoon City to see their headquarters. But upon approaching the Blood Knights, she freaked out, wandered down the stairs, ran into the elves' captive naaru and started draining its power herself. Ew. The Blood Knight leader got excited and told me she was going to ask if the Blood Knights could adopt Salandria to train her, since "to see this in a child is truly amazing!"
When I brought her back, she called me her big sister and cried, but I was kind of glad to get rid of the creepy little albino. She was clearly going to be something evil when she grew up. I'm not the only one who noticed this, either. Alliance, how did your day with the Draenei girl go? What do you think about Children's Week?

My little Draenei girl bit the head off a live sporebat, then ran around with her head spinning and spitting pea soup everywhere.
Pretty normal stuff.

The Draenei orphan actually asks to visits Exodar and upon finding the head Shaman, he tells her to remember her dreams and to focus. After a few moments she spawns four tiny Elementals, much to the delight of the Shaman. He then says he's going to ask the orphanage if the orphan can come train with him, as he sees great things in her future...

We went to see her brother at Aries Landing, who was being Nike'd into learning jewelcrafting. Then we had to go to the Ring of Observance, where she summoned some dude with the meeting stone, then the dark portal. Then she wanted to see the exodar and the head naaru there, who talked in my head and told me to take her to the shaman trainer.
Then this 6 year old conjured four elemental spirits without totems. Whoa.
Then the same deal as you at the caverns of time. Clearly, these two have rather large destinies ahead of them. I cant even imagine what they might do that would make the wardens want to kill them like that, potentially damaging the time flow.

I'm seriously disappointed. I picked up my orphan in Orgrimmar, and he just wanted to do all the normal stuff. You know, visit the frontier, chill with Cairne Bloodhoof, slaughter a captive night elf. Nothing fun at all.

A friend of mine used to take his orphan on raids and RP with it.
"OK, this is Mister Vaelastrasz. He's... not quite right. Just so you know, if you start to feel real warm, run out of the room."

Oh wow - I so have to do these quests now...I get to help in the development of a future dark lord...how cool is that! :) I bet they'll want to keep my vampire snowshoe bunny as a pet when they leave.

I did the Caverns of Time and Silvermoon quests the other way round, so I just assumed it was a little joke that she needs to be killed becuase ZOMG BELFADINS R RUININ TEH HORD!

There's nothing wrong with those little kids that a heroic mindflay from Skyriss won't fix. Its important to show them who is boss.

After getting my Horde orphan in Shattrath I really only had time to take it in the Arena with me.
Looks kinda funny having an orphan in the middle of an Arena match!

The little Draenei girl is alright. Little Dornaa. I've been having fun with her. A right precious little girl.
Did you see the Orphanage the kids are from? There are babies there. Gnomes, Orcs, Draenei, Night Elves, Tauren, Humans, and Dwarves. The Dwarf baby has big bushy eyebrows. Their cribs even reflect the architecture of their people.

Supposedly 60. Makes sense, you couldn't legitimately get to Shattrath before then I think, which seems to be Blizzard's intention with the level 58 Portal limit.

Was talking about these kids the other day with a guild mate. She said that maybe Salandria's gonna grow up and seduce/corrupt Dornaa's brother. Then the ensuing catfight proceeds to tear the fabric of space-time apart. I personally want to see them again, maybe in a new instance titled Caverns of Time: End of WoW.

after mine had seen the head shaman, the sham had then asked the council if the child can be trained. the council had refused though, because too old the child was and his future was clouded with much fear and anger.

I was rather touched by it all, the Draenei Girl is a little sweetie, and i wished they would have let me adopt her permamantly. It would have been sweet to have a little companion. I tihnk this was one of the most touching things Blizzard put into the game. I hope more of the same can happen.

my belf kiddy is the cutest thing ever! the way she idles waving her arms around and so on. i wish i could keep her instead of the silly pet you get. also, for next year they should be able to attack and have a few abilities on a pet bar :D

Personally I loved my little belf. Sure she might become evil, but she was so utterly cute, and being a Belf Paladin myself it was very touching :)
I loved the letter at the end, I wish I got to keep her :(

Yeah, Dornaa (the Dreanei girl) ended up at the Exodar. There she proceeded to have the Naaru look her over. The Naaru observed that one day she would be a very important hero. Later, she swung by the shaman trainer and she summoned four elementals without totems for him. The shaman decided to adopt her right then and there.

Yep, took my little Draenei girl around the sights and wanted to adopt her myself.
It seems like the only Orphan of the Damned was that Blood Elf kid.
Never did like them BElfs.
