WoW Moviewatch: So that's where that dance came from!
We've all seen the videos of different dances. We've had ones where they all dance together, ones where the original source is cited. We've even seen video of a guy dancing like a Night Elf Female. Now we have another dance movie. There's one thing about this one that sets it apart, however. This is the first one I've seen that does a really good job of putting the dances side-by-side with their inspirations.
As Bowzerblack on the WoW LJ said: "I didn't know that about ogres!" All I can say is that I didn't either. And yes, I know it's the Boomkin dance too, but you don't see a lot of (completely-bare) topless Boomkins running about. Which, now that I think about it, is probably a good thing.

Great Movie.
I just wish it showed more of the races, both male and female. I'm still lost as to where the female Draenei dance is from.

How can wow just rip everything off and not get sued?!?! Did they pay all of these ppl to use their dances?
Calgar May 25th 2007 12:52PM
That French woman who does the night elf dance is SUPREMELY hot.
Oh, and the orc dance and Pb&J time are awesomeness too.

What, no illustration of how the Male Tauren dance is from "Where the Hell is Matt"?

Still missing the undead dance moves. :P

That was awesome! Thanks for making my WoW-day.

The Ogre movie is wrong, that dance is from Pulp Fiction.

I wanna see the complete list of dances. Undead male and female human dances are easy to find. Troll and undead female are kinda harder to find I guess.
Oh yeah. What about the gnome dances? =)
Laukidh May 25th 2007 1:40PM
Troll dance would just be a search for capoeira. Undead female... I dunno, bauhaus concert footage?

Btw, if you wanted to know the Draenei dance song it is Tunak Tunak Tun by Dahler Mendhi.
I have owned that song/video for like 4 years.
I think most people love when WoW steals there stuff. I mean Marvel should really sue for the Avenger's Shield Talent. Prot Pallys might as well just have a round shield with a Star in the middle.

Male undead - air guitar (metal band)
Male gnome - I'm sure it's copying Mini Me from Austin Powers...
Human female - Macarena? Might copy something else too...

I love how people throw the term "steal" around. Blizzard isn't stealing, they're paying homage. Get it right.

Female Tauren is a line dancing move of some sort, electric slide maybe?
Grumpator May 27th 2007 3:55PM
Tauren female is totally the Electric Slide.
jess May 25th 2007 4:18PM
What a fun video, I liked how the costumes match up really well.
As for some of the unseen dances - Pretty sure the Female Troll is Shakira esque and Female Orc is your basic rump shaker. Female Tauren does the electric slide. Not sure about Dranei women do, it's sort of bollywood esque though.
As for future dances, it would be fun to see the Apache dance from Fresh Prince of Bell Air used, that's a fun one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQem5EplADo)
