What you need to know about daily quests
I'm a man of many distractions. Between a full time career, a growing family and a new writing gig at WoWInsider, I don't have as much time as I used to when it comes to my video games. When I do log on to WoW, I often look for objectives I can complete in a short amount of time, but still give me some sense of progress. Enter my new obsession: daily quests.New factions were introduced with the The Black Temple 2.1 Patch and with it came the specter of the dreaded rep grind. But this time Blizzard has added quests that reward players with hefty reputation gains in exchange for limiting their completion to once a day. Since these appeal to me greatly, I did some digging around and found a few helpful facts that may aid you in your Outland adventures.
- Daily quests count against your total quest count in your quest log
- You can have a maximum of 10 daily quests in your log at any given time
- The timer on redoing a daily quest is not reset every 24 hours from when you complete it, but at 2am PST
- Many daily quests that work in one reputation level (i.e. Neutral) continue to work in when you've achieved higher rep levels
- Currently you must be L70 to get these quests so they give no experience

I saw someone in Shattrath City yesterday that was on a Netherwing Drake. Is it even possible to be exalted with them that quickly? I thought the whole point of the daily quests was to make hardcore and casual gamers have to progress at roughly the same rate...

Aside from the mounts, those new factions are really just meh. No good rewards, except for maybe the Revered Cloaks from the skyguard. I am probably not going to grind the rep for them. Sure its easy but the rewards IMO aren't worth it.
And I saw someone on Thorium Brotherhood with the Drake on Friday night.

The daily netherwing quests are so incredibly boring they make me want to find a sharp object and impale myself with it. Collect 40 bushes? 40 Crystals? 10 Relics? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz The gold is nice and the mount is cool so I keep coming back for more. But with other grinds to do (for heroic keys, exalted rep for gear, herbs/pots to collect/make) I don't find myself interested enough to do all the daily quests every day. And as a Resto druid I find some of the quests, especially the Relic collection where I have to kill the Transporters, virtually impossible unless I find someone to help me.

Wrong. Sure, some are L70, but not all. Please research your information first. 50 DKP minus WowInsider.

@#1. Yes, I know 2 people on Skywall who already have them Alliance side. While the quests are daily, you can turn in the eggs at any time once you get to that part. The eggs are supposed to have a really low drop rate, but apparently you can farm them all day long. It gives a fair bit of rep too.
BTW, I find it amusing that everyone wants this mount (for very good reasons) and the rep is easier to grind for than the Wintersaber cat. I doubt anyone will ever grind that one out again. Too bad, really. It's a nice looking mount.

@3,
The starting ones suck, sure, but the booterang quest? Fun! The races were what made me want to kill myself. The first five weren't bad at all, but Skyshatter was a PITA. Made him my bitch last night, though, with my ninja reflexes and maneuvering skillz.

Also remember that not every time you see someone in Shat (or anywhere else for that matter) is it in fact a "real" drake mount. Explanation:
As you well know when you fly to the Netherwing Ledge to do your daily quests, your mount (and your appearance) changes into a drake (and you an orc). Now, what's supposed to happen is that when you fly back off the ledge into 'regular' SMV your mount is converted back. But sometimes this doesn't happen and the drake mount "stays" and you can essentially fly to wherever you choose (in Outland obviously) - but as soon as you dismount you "lose" the drake.
I have tested this in game and it does in fact work, rode her all the way back to Shat, and stood out in front of the Scryer bank while people /cheered me. Pretty amusing, but in fact, not genuine.
Not to discredit anyone that in fact has the mount, more power to ya. But if you're wondering, ask (or wait to see) if the person dismount and remounts before you assume they're some rep-grinding badass.
Just fyi :)

@8, yeah, I've had this bug and that's what a lot of people are probably seeing this early. However, you'll see a lot more get to exalted later this week and have the real deal. I've done every daily quest every day and all the others along the way. I'm 4K into revered without any explicit egg farming and I still haven't beaten Skyshatter for the 1k rep (BTW, the best new quests are those races...the last two are very challenging and fun). I can see if you just grinded all day long looking for egg drops that you could get to exalted this early, though that's quite a lot of eggs. I'm sure someone did it to be one of the first.
Yeah, the grinds are very boring, but most are pretty quick. The crystals are the biggest grind, but a lot will drop while doing other quests. The gold to be gained is really very good. Being a skinner it's like TBC release all over again with countless carcasses being left behind for me to skin and the new drop rates of leather have made it Scraptacular! I can complete the gathering quest right away every day since I have an inventory built up now. Dump all that extra leather on the AH along with the greens, motes, and the gold each quest pays every day and it may nearly reimburse me for the epic mount training itself by the time I get to exalted. No joke.
