While I welcome any improvements to fishing I have to disagree with your opinion on the current status of fishing.

I have found fishing to be FAR more fun since 2.1.

I did not START a new Fisherman so perhaps lower levels are still filled with missed fish.

My young Paladin went from 100 to 200 VERY quickly post-patch with very few (if any) lost fish.

Then again, I tend to only fish in my "favorite" fishing spots like Wetlands, Thermamore and Feralas. So perhaps all of those "Floating Debris" help to keep my enjoyment level higher.
