Mysterious Mysteries: Fel Reavers on wheels!
The Burning Legion's dreaded (and sometimes dancing) Fel Reavers have been seen gliding around Hellfire Peninsula for the last week without appearing to walk! Adventurers everywhere have been trying to puzzle out how this could happen, but Lebowski, the Grand Master Engineer at Honor Hold, seems to have come up with the most plausible explanation:
"Using my specially-engineered-for-super-stealth [Silent-Strider Kneeboots]," he told Mysterious Mysteries, sporting some very nasty cuts and bruises all over his body, "I managed to get underneath a Fel Reaver before it spotted me! I saw very clearly the roller-skates underneath its feet before it saw me and trampled my body into the dust!"
Fortunately, his wife, a night elf priest, came looking for him soon after this horrible accident, and raised him back to life. "At least Lebowski didn't die in the house this time," she said. "The last time he invented something, he got bodily fluids all over our family rug!"
Have you noticed any odd creature movement happening around Azeroth or Outland? Creatures jumping up and down in some sort of twisted and evil exercise program as they come into your field of view, perhaps?

Actually, I have noticed mobs doing some sort of hopping while going around before. One of the Crocolisks out in the Swamps Of Sorrow out by the coast seemed to enjoy doing such things.

Ever since 2.1 I've noticed about 10% of the creatures (that's a lot) i see gliding along. It's fun watching them go up/down slopes, because they dig into the ground.

It looks like a giant toy transformer.
...more than meets the eye!

Bouncing pigs near Falcon Watch in that ravine... every time they try to cross, it looks like they are about to take off. This is happening to other animals throughout BC... I don't know what they did to the pathfinding but it is screwed up big time.

I've seen a bunch of bouncing boars all over the place -- it's pretty funny!

A Fel Reaver glided over me last night... I can tell you it wasn't floating on air... Plus, the Helboars had pogo-sticks or air-ride hoofs - like a "Pimp-my-Boar" show...

i have actually never seen a fel reaver with it's regular animation, as i hit level 58 the day the patch came out :)
i thought the gliding was normal! (until i did the bombing run quests and saw the other fel reaver sentries walking around instead of skating around)

Yeah the path finding is pretty messed up, it took my pet 5 minutes to follow me out of a house!

I actually saw a scorpid under ground! Looks like they've given them a new defense mechanism, hiding in the dirt :P

I saw beasties in the starter orc area last night that would just slide around like the ground was ice.
Also, my imp has learned to teleport.
Hmmm.
It was funny so I forgot to ticket it.
Oh well.
They probably know about it and if not I want some roller skates too.
I already levitate and move while on my knees! Cant be too hard!

And also, I too have noticed a large amount of the beasts doing what I have dubbed a "happy dance". I guess blizzard decided to feed them in the 2.1 patch and they are all giddy now.

Has anyone noticed that some of the cows are wearing armor? Maybe I've just been drinking too much Pepsi the last couple weeks....

Has anyone else noticed that some of the cows are wearing armor? Maybe I've just been drinking too much Pepsi...

Covered on guild chat this week (Elite Shinobi on Malorne), I hadnt noticed before patch though GM swears its always been so, the "prance effect". Hilarious on sinister mobs like dinosaur, a quick four high hops in a row, thought it might be lag or patch glitch at first. Maybe something fun for Children's Week?

Bloodmyst has numerous mobs hopping along and INTO the ground.
Two nights ago I lost a bear during a battle when it dipped beneath the ground. It had been hopping like that when I attacked it.

I was fighting the colossi in Hellfire Peninsula last night and one of them fell through the ground on death. There was just a tiny crystal left above ground.

Over the weekend I leveled my skinning (since I got bored with alchemy), so I spent some quality time with the raptors in the Arathi Highlands. One ambushed me when it jumped up out of the low hill in which it had been hiding.
Maybe it's a new kind of mob? Like those creepy trap-door spiders?
Oldbear May 29th 2007 3:15PM
And I forgot about the flying eels in the "Marsh" - How can I run away from flying eels? Or the disappearing Bog Lord - He just went poff... Came back 3-5 minutes during a different fight...

All the bears in Eastern Feralas are falling through the world. It's kinda cool.

The dancing dwarves in the bar in Blackrock Depths now dance *inside* the table instead of on top of it.
