WoW Patch 2.1.0.6729 - shortest patchnotes ever
I'm pretty sure that this sentence is actually longer than the patch notes. I'm also thinking that the image for this entry is going to take up more space than the text. And to top it all off, for once you're not going to have to click through to read the full details for this odd, out-of-place Wednesday morning patch. In fact, this is practically a non-entry, and merely here as a service to let you know that when you get home today you'll have a 1.75mb download for the following:
Bugs
- Fixed a crash in the client.

3.27 MB for the Mac client, wonder if it's a mac problem (although I haven't had WoW crash in months).

Actually, that patch may be better than the actual 2.1 for me. On average after 2.1, I crashed about 4 times a night. Hopefully this has fixed that problem.

Thanks Ryan! I'm actually stuck at "Handshaking" on my Mac, and I was curious if it was going to be a PC or a Mac client fix.. Maybe it's both!

Apparantly several people had issues/chrashes when alt-tabbing to desktop and returning.
But be prepared, Wednesday is patchday in Europe, so we got that patch this morning. Servers should have been up and running by 11 AM CET and it is 4:10 PM now and still the majority of servers are down.

Our Gruul's raid was delayed by probably an hour net with people crashing (myself included). Glad they're addressing this.

@3
I'm also having the problem of WoW stuck at Handshaking... Anyone know why it's doing that?
dag618 May 30th 2007 10:22AM
Hehe, it's now working, I restarted my computer, but I dunno if that was what helped, or something else.

I know you are mostly in the US, but we got this today in the Euro zone aswell.
Strangely, within an hour of it going live, every realm was crashing more or less every five minutes, if not more. By two hours, all realms were offline. Four hours later, about a third of the realms are back.
Funny thing is that before the patch, noone could remember the client crashing...

Alt-tabbing to desktop and back? *raises hand*. This hit me last night.
Glad to see they're on the ball.

I was having lots of crashes due to ALT+Tabbing. I found a solution though, posted by some blue-named on the forums.
Find the Config.wtf file in your WoW\WTF folder. Open in WordPad and Find the line "SET baseMip," change the number after that from a 1 to a 0. That seemed to work for me.
Although, when I just looked at Config.wtf again to give these directions, I couldn't fine that baseMip line.
O.0
Supposedly, adding the line in if you can't find it works just as well but I cannot attest to that.

I'm using a Mac too and I'm also stuck at Handshaking. Glad to hear that it's probably not my ISP's fault though- I would have a difficult time trying to get them to fix it because they only speak Japanese :-/

For the Handshake problem on PC's goto the Start menu and click on Run.
Type "cmd" and then enter
The Command prompt will come up.
Next Type "ipconfig /flushdns"
Wait for it to finish and then restart your computer.
This worked for me I hope it works for you. For Mac users I have no idea. :( Sorry.

These patch notes are nothing compared to the german patch notes, which read:
Bugfixed: Es wurde ein Fehler behoben
...a pretty much exact translation to english would be:
Bugfixed: An error has been fixed.
Okay...so they fixed an error...wow! I would have never guessed that if they didn't put it into the patch notes.
