Get in line! Rezzing order and you
So someone moved, someone pulled aggro, someone didn't heal fast enough, or you just don't have the DPS. It's a wipe. Everyone's dead on the ground, and the raidleader calls for a Shaman to pop, or for someone to use their soulstone. I'm a resto Shaman, so this happens to me pretty often: I Reincarnate and I'm standing over 24 dead people. Who do I rez first?Obviously, the first people I go for are those who have a rez to use, so we can do some chain rezzing. Priests, other Shamans, and Paladins. But after that? Caralynn lays it out: while your first instinct may be to rez your MT or your friends, you should really be rezzing pet and buff classes before melee.
Which makes great sense. Warlocks and Hunters need to drink and resurrect their pets, and that's a lot of time wasted if you rez them last. Mages and Druids use all kinds of mana casting those buffs, so they usually have to drink, rebuff after a wipe, and then drink again. And Warriors and Rogues are easy to refill-- Rage doesn't refill, and I wish my mana filled up as quickly as Energy did.
So it's Other Rezzers > Pet Classes > Buffers > and then Melee. There are other schools of thought on this (one player says to rez RL girls first, wink wink say no more), but this plan seems to be the best. Plus, Caralynn points out that this has the added bonus of not having melee standing around trying to pull while clothies are rebuffing. If you time it right, everyone can be ready to go again at the same time. And this time, watch that aggro!

After other rezzers have been raised, it is best to have the rezzers spread out and take a zone. This means less moving around and should yield faster rez times. It also lowers the chances of two rezzes on the same person.

As a warlock I figure if I SS you I should get 1st dibs on the rezzing after any other rezzing class. perhaps that is a little selfish but then again I am playing a 'lock so it's expected.

As a main tank, I don't have a problem waiting for the res. I usually expect to res last. whats more, I don't expect to be healed after a res. I sit and eat. Why waste mana on a heal when we will be waiting anyway?

I rez in the order of who caused us to die the least. That's right fury spec tank... I'm rezzing you last, and you know exactly why.

When I play my mage it drives me crazy when I get rezzed last, especially in a 5 man. The entire group has to sit there and wait while I try to regen my obscene amounts of mana.

ALWAYS rez the prot tanks last...
In the event of a mistake (morons sometimes pull by accident waiting for casters to drink...) your expensively armored tank wishes he hadnt been rezzed first. 6g down the drain in only a few minutes.

As a lock, I agree with youre sequence. Speaking from about lvl 60 expierence, it takes nearly a full mana bar to summon my pet, rebuff deamon armor and make another health stone. So, being rezzed last meant I was still gulping mana juice when everyone else was ready to go. At lvl 70 it isn't quite so bad. Mixing everything between rezzers and meele may work just as well.

As a rogue, I learned early on that we're usually first to die and last to res... I don't see why other rogues get so bent about this however... it's a great time to bio / grab a drink / stretch... besides, what are we going to do for the 5-10mins it takes to res 40 some peeps (this was back in MC / BWL 40mans).

As a 'lock I don't expect to be rezzed first, but it would definitely be nice to be rezzed after the rezzers. It does take a while to summon a pet and get the mana back. I wish everyone realized this!

Interesting article, I was always under the impression that the objective in rez order is to get survivable again as quick as possible in case of a pat. Bare minimum for that in an instance is tanks and healers, so I always thought rez'ers should get the tanks first, even if it takes a little longer post-rez for the dps'ers to regen buffs, minions, mana and stuff.

I'd say after anyone else who can rez, mages should be brought back up so they can mana up as fast as possible. Unless they have Arcane Mind, they will most likely have to sit and drink after each cast of Arcane Brilliance, the most expensive buff in the game. Niether hunters nor warlocks buff, so summoning a pet doesn't have as much down time as casting buffs. Before soulwells, locks would be up there with mages, but not anymore.

Think it depends when it comes to warriors/tanks. If the tank is one of the raid leaders, or in close conversation with the raid leader, it's a good idea to rez him so he can concentrate on his conversation trying to figure out wtf went wrong.
I don't have a high level healer (my only healing-esque class is a 31 paladin, and he's prot), so I haven't had many wipe recoveries. I do agree with that rotation in 5-10 mans, but in a stressful 25 man, get the tanks up so they can concentrate on bickering and figuring out who did what wrong.
