Illidari Council down
Warning: this post relates what is popularly known as a "world-first" kill. If you are not interested in a certain high-end European raid guild that shall not be mentioned destroying enemies you may not have heard of, read no further. Right. Still here? OK then.
A mere 15 hours after their last kill, the current superstars of WoW PvE have vanquished the one remaining obstacle between them and the big man himself, Illidan. Yes, the Illidari Council is no more. This means they have tonight and tomorrow to try to take down Illy before the raid resets on Wednesday morning (right? Wednesday for EU raids?).
What's the secret to their success, you may ask? Well, Kungen claims "Key to success is 4 rogues in all raids." That's good to hear, as it may assuage some Rogue concerns over being edged out in PvE. According to their site they're working on Illidan as I type this, so good luck, guys, and congrats once again. Check out their site for a nice gallery of Illidan killing everybody, and here's the loot from the Council.

Must be nice to have no job, no girls, and an aversion to sunlight.
Oh, and they must be hopped up on something at the rate they progress.
YPEELS40 Jun 4th 2007 2:47PM
You heard em guys 4 rogues in a 25 man.. so thats about 2 rogues in a 10 man? Someone take my epic arse to raids!
Coherent Jun 4th 2007 2:47PM
Meh

@1 -
most of them have jobs, gfs/wives. there was an excellent interview with them on wowradio a while back. some of them have jobs that allow them to not work part of the year (contracts, temp jobs, etc...or like me....people who work in schools!!!!!!)
Freehugz Jun 4th 2007 3:08PM
nice screenshot
@ #1 must suck to be bitter about people you don't know playing a game
X Jun 4th 2007 3:09PM
yeah, seriously people just become jealous bitches who want to tear down those there jealous of.
It's important to remember in wow:
"those who accomplish more then you have no life, if they accomplish any less then you they are nubs"
Rich Jun 4th 2007 3:13PM
Meh

Yea, because if we don't like the guild who thinks they're awesome because they're the first to blaze through content, then whine about needing more, the guild run on the policy of "Lol, gurls are a distraction, gurls can't raid with us!" we MUST just be jealous of their awesome skills, we can't just think "Wow.....I'm sorry for their friends/family that probly hardly see them."

I love how so many people find it so difficult to say, "_______ is better than me at ______." and NOT follow it up with demeaning remarks about them.
try it.
Nihilium is better than me at PvE (and probably PvP too).
Not only that, I bet some of those guys make more money than me, have a nicer house/apt, nicer car, and a hotter wife/gf than me too. I'm not jealous of them at all. I don't have the motivation to do what they do on a regular basis. If you want to be the best you have to work at it, I just don't NEED to be the best. For me, its still just a game.
I just get tired of the insecure players with loud voices.
Tridus Jun 4th 2007 3:28PM
"Meh" from two previous commenters about it covers it. This stuff isn't even interesting anymore.
Pingmeister Jun 4th 2007 3:28PM
It *is* jealousy when someone posts assumptions about another who has accomplished something.
It's one thing to say "I'm afraid that the guild in question has some peculiar policies and which tarnish their accomplishments"
It's quite another to say that they are all rich, lonely nerds in their parents house.
(which might very well be the case) :)
Mr. Pink Jun 4th 2007 3:39PM
Yes, I'm jealous of people doing something in a video game... Oh wait
Tridus Jun 4th 2007 3:40PM
@11.
Its jealousy if people rail on about how they're nerds who live in their mothers basements, have no friends, and never see the light of day. Most of that probably isn't true.
Its not jealousy to point out that since they buy gold (and thus can afford to buy gold), they have an advantage over people who have to farm up mats. All that farming takes up time, and you have more time to spend learning content if you don't have to farm.
I guess thats the good thing about the alchemy nerf, really there's less farming needed for those who actually have to do it.
Leshrac Jun 4th 2007 3:52PM
I'd rather hear about any guild then those fucktards Death and R-Tards guild that this site seems to get all moist over.
X Jun 4th 2007 4:06PM
Well then why don't you fucking make a guild and get world firsts before nihilum so you don't have to hear about them all the time.
The fact is they are the BEST and are always ahead on content getting the first downs because other. guilds. don't.
Seriously you bitchy stupid people stop trying to belittle there accomplisments and put them down constantly just because they do this shit and you don't. seriously it's just awful the way you idiots respond to them. So they buy gold and have a belief that girls will distract the raid big fucking deal.
And just cause they are the best doesn't mean they dont' have fucking lives. Being a raider myself i can tell you that's all bullshit made up by you jealous casuals who all infer these stupid misconceptions and it's just retarded.
larsiezwei Jun 4th 2007 4:35PM
I agree with 15. Seriously. If you hate Nihilum then why the hell is everyone commenting about them....jesus. If you think they are a bunch of people that play wow too much, chances are if you comment on this site....you play a bit as well.
badge Jun 4th 2007 4:26PM
Hi! Number fifteen, I'm a raider too, so no stupid "Lol, dumb casuals" can work on this poster.
And...belittle an accomplishment in a videogame......really think about that. It's been shown they buy gold, have retarded policies, and (if an ex guildie can be trusted) cheat, yea, that on top of the fact it's a VIDEO GAME, it means nothing anyway.
Rich Jun 4th 2007 4:56PM
I reiterate...Meh
Its a game...
Who really cares who clears what first.
Ste Jun 4th 2007 6:33PM
"It's just a game" can be said about almost anything. I have the utmost respect for anyone who devotes a large part of their life to something to be the best that they can possibly be and to belittle that with "Oh it's just a computer game it means nothing" is pretty pathetic and wreaks of insecurity. We are talking about the most skilled and talented people out of 8.5 million and that, despite wow being "just a computer game", is a great accomplishment.
Dracula Jones Jun 4th 2007 6:36PM
MMO n00bs!!!!
World firsts and tracking big-name guilds are part of the culture, so get used to it.
Why do you think Tigole and Furor work for Blizzard now? Because they were the leaders of EQ's even-more-hardcore equivalents to Nihilum and Death & Taxes, Legacy of Steel and Fires of Heaven.
If you don't want to read about it, just don't.
