The ridable flightless bird boss

That's right! One of the items a lucky few will be able to loot from this dead bird's corpse is the dead bird itself, raised to life as a ridable mount. This may be the only item in the game where you can summon a boss and ride around on him to your hearts content, and look pretty spiffy while you're at it, too.
The only odd thing about this bird is that it can't fly; this is a land mount only. At least it doesn't look anything like a penguin. If one wants a real flying raven mount, the only option is to level a night elf druid up and learn how to shapeshift into a raven form. But in the meantime for all other classes (as well as greedy druids who want this mount to go with the theme of their Flight Form), this is the next best thing, or even better, depending on your point of view.
This is the indisputable number one top right answer for today's breakfast topic, "Neatest Land Mount." Discuss.

I've been wondering for quite a while why a raven mount wouldn't fly, a land-only bird? Pretty odd.

"greedy druids who want this mount to go with the theme of their Flight Form"
Greedy? Give me a break.

"the only option is to level a night elf druid up"
Really? The -only- option?

@3 Everyone knows Tauren Druids aren't real. They're merely a myth perpetuated by Illidan.
David Bowers Jun 13th 2007 7:39PM
Yep! The tauren flight form is orangish brown now. I was shocked to see a brown raven next to the mailbox one day, and for a while I thought it was a pet. Of course everybody knows that a brown raven isn't *really* a raven, right?

This mount is the real reason i'm working on my epic flight form :P

To bad it never drops :p
Done several Heroic Sethekk Halls runs, first for the flight form, later just for the Mount...
Nada >.<
Its just a typical Myth like the Baron Mount pre BC :/

Re: the pic. Reign is what a raven lord might do. Reins are what a raven lord might (albeit rarely) drop.

Re: Reins vs Reigns: Curses! Oh well. At least I fixed it for posterity.
Re: Greedy druids: Mainly I was envisioning a druid who got friends to go there in order to help with the Swift Flight Form, and ended up getting this mount too. But it's true that it's much more likely for the druid to go many many times without ever seeing anything like this, and would have just as much claim to it as anyone. Just like the Baron mount, yeah.

it's a raptor skinned with feathers.

I love tanking as a paladin. i guess a lot of players don't want to put the time into getting decent gear, but at 70, i don't even mind grinding rep anymore.
Tankadin Jun 14th 2007 10:26AM
wrong topic...sorry :)

Is this mount usable only in Outlands or in both Azeroth and Outlands ?
David Bowers Jun 14th 2007 1:32PM
Yup! It's a land mount, so you can use it everywhere except indoors or underwater.
RogueJedi86 Jun 14th 2007 9:04PM
This mount is the reason for everyone to make friends with a level 70 druid.

Chocobo Chocobo Chocobo! Finally a nice land mount for alliance... the only good ones we've had till now are cats. Don't get me wrong, I love mah cats, but variety can be nice.
