50 days until BlizzCon
The countdown on my homepage is down to 50 days until BlizzCon, and I'm all kinds of excited. Not only will we have some nifty swag, the tickets went on sale a couple of days ago. I grabbed my ticket as quick as I could, remembering the stresses of 2005, when they sold out in a day. Now that you've got your ticket (hopefully you do), it's time to plan what you are going to do while you're there. They've got a couple of contests, as they did last time. I have been debating if I should use my pathetic sewing skills to create a costume, but I'm just not sure I would be able to pull it off. Last October I attempted to make myself a Magister's Regalia for Halloween. It didn't go so well. Are any of you planning on dressing the part during the event this year? What costumes are you creating? Will you wear it for both days of the convention, just one, or just for the contest itself?

I had a great time at the 2005 show, despite it being located in Anaheim, which seems to consist only of small strip mall islands in the midst of a dust bowl.
The contests were great fun to watch, and the presentations with Q&A sessions were very cool.
Apparently I'll be bringing a date this year too as the ad for reunion.com on this site says there is an underwear model searching for me...

I wish they would have more of these in other places so I could go.. contrary to popular belief the whole world doesn't live near california.. I know, I was shocked when I heard that as well. ;)

Anaheim...small strip mall islands? dust bowl? You have heard of this little place called Disneyland right? Convention Center is right across from it. Yeah, nuff said.

Dust bowl? Hmmm...a beautiful 79 degrees and clear today. Slight breeze. Gorgeous. Oh yeah, home of the NHL champion Ducks. Soon to be MLB champion Angels.
Ok, so I'm posting from a slightly nicer Irvine, but still, Anaheim isn't a dustbowl with strip malls.

I went to Disneyland on vacation, stayed at a hotel in Anaheim, and I'd just like to state that you are mistaken, sir. Anaheim is not dusty--they paved over all the dirt to put in strip malls. There is no land left for dust to come from. I drove all around that area, and really, does anyone live in Anaheim? Where do the Ducks play? I'm guessing in a strip mall because that is the most strip mall intensive part of the world I have ever seen. Not a pretty place.

@7: The same person in this picture, on the left - http://www.blizzard.com/blizzcon05/images/costumes/general/ss169.jpg - whose name appears to be Nik Harper.

Hah, my friend linked me this. Sweet, I'm not even sure I have that picture (I have yet to get my personal blizzcon pictures from a friend I went with 2 years ago.)
Look for me this year, with much luck I'll be a Dryad. Yeah. It sounds weird.
And YES, try for a costume! There's 2 days for the convention after all, and nobody's preventing you from bringing another outfit in case you feel like an idiot. (I was self conscious about my costume so I brought a change of clothes)
See you there!
