BlizzCon tickets are going fast!
Looking to buy tickets to BlizzCon 2007? Well, they went on sale this Tuesday, and by Wednesday evening Blizzard reports that half of the tickets have been sold. Yikes -- that seems pretty fast to me, and I've got to ask: are they releasing that few tickets or are that many people interested in going? If Thursday turns out to be as busy a day as Wednesday, you can expect every last ticket to be gone soon -- so if you're wanting to go to BlizzCon in August, hurry up and buy your tickets, because it looks like they're going to be gone soon.

If Blizzcon uses the same size hall as the last one. Its really not that big. So get tix if you want to go.

It would be nice to be able to buy a ticket, been trying for the past 24 hours using 4 valid CCs, have experienced a variety of errors on their site (which they've been updating non-stop it seems) and now it's current reporting all 4 CCs as invalid, which is rubbish as I was able to check they worked by buying a book on amazon.
There are many people complaining of the same problems on the ticket forum, and there have been *no* blue responses to those serious issues, the support phone line the site points you towards when you fail is of no assistance, they just point you to a blizzconsupport mail alias which does not answer (nobody on the forum has received a response from them).
And to show the arrogant US cerntric bullshit attitude further, the ticket forum is only accessible with a US account... sheesh its bad enough they refuse to have a euro blizzcon now they lock us out if we're willing to dig deep and travel..
Basically I'm disgusted with Blizzard right now.

Anyone have any idea whether we can book the hotels at con rates (or what the con rates are) yet?
Pzychotix Jun 14th 2007 5:39AM
@2: Chill. Suddenly because the forums are geared a certain way, it's US centric bullshit. Well I call bullshit on you sir. Get over it.

@4: Apologies that was unfair of me. It is still damn annoying that if you have an EU account there is no way to post your problems on that forum.
There is a European site with a dead link to a euro forum, so the rant should really be at the euro organisation for not getting their act together.
Its just a massive pain :/

Glad I bought my tickets earlier yesterday morning.

When your credit card fails it lists a telephone number to call, have you tried calling for technical support regarding te credit card issue?
Kyle Jun 14th 2007 11:08AM
You can just call all the hotels on the list at www.blizzcon.com and ask for their BlizzCon rates.
The cheapest I found was the Radisson, I think, which is about $89 a night.
The Hilton and the Anabella Hotel were both around $129 a night.
You MUST call to get these rates and book your reservation. You can't do it online.

Same issue as @2, been on hold now with their billing/customer service line for the last 30 minutes
Bal Jun 14th 2007 11:50AM
@7 yep was getting that yesterday, the number is just for the regular US billing support, theres a bit of a wait and they're very nice to deal with but aren't able to help as it's a different group that's handling Blizzcon. They just pointed me to the blizzcon support mail alias, which I've still not recieved a response from.
They seem to have been working on the site yesterday as it's behaviour changed during the day, it used to attempt to process the card before failing, now it immediately returns that the card is invalid without going to the processing interstitial. And last thing last night they seem to have had removed the 'Insert content here' page, replacing it with a page saying you've had too many attempts to buy a ticket and to start over fresh.
I've been trying on and off all day, and it's not gotten any better, I'm planning on giving Blizz one last phone call later today then I'm giving up.
It's a damn shame, I was hoping to come all the way over from the UK.

I went last year, and other than playing the blood Elf starting zone it wasn't that cool.
The coolest things were the murloc pet and access to the TBC beta....nothing to do with the actual CON
