k, let me preface this with, I am a casual player, I tend to run many toons. Enough so that I have trouble telling who is an alt and main. I started pre BC in november and just hit 62 with my hunter and am loving Outlands.
So why wont blizzard update 1-60 content?
The problem you run in to is percentages. What % of players are 60+. Those are the ones the patch is geared toward. Lets consider the fact that BC came out 5 mounts ago. Many are about done with the new content. Granted Nihilum was the first due to an obsessive need to be first, But it may only be a few months for the next Illidan death. Blizzard has there work cut out for them to deliver the next patch for these players and have the content last any time at all. An 8 month life-span on content that is meant to last 1+ years is a problem. This means more focus on end game content that will last longer and be harder to finnish.
So if their largest player base are 70 now, why would they work on new 20-70 content? It wont do them much good when those players are going to focus on 70-80.
And as for new content being a reason for some one to start over, you still are only going to get a few who are willing to start over and give up what they had created to go and see new lands to grind from 1-80 in.
Im all for the 300-400% XP boost, have a trinket that you can buy at 70 and mail to an alt that gives you an XP boost. If you are new suck it up and learn to pay :P but if you want to try a new class, make it easier.
