Breakfast Topic: What's your greatest dream?
What's the greatest thing you hope to accomplish in World of Warcraft? I know most of us who play don't really dream of becoming the best-known member of the best Arena team, or joining Nihilum and being the first to clear the latest raid content. But what do we want to achieve? Is there some point in the future at which you will say, "now I've done it," and smile with pride?Or, like Rob Pardo's daughter, maybe the thing you like most about WoW is just exploring and discovering new things to do. There needn't really be any actual achievement as such -- in its own way, discovery itself can be a profound achievement. When my first character was around level 20, so long ago now, my biggest dream was just to see the whole world of Azeroth, to visit every town and finally face some of the dangerous enemies I used to fly over on the flightpath between Stormwind and Ironforge.
Nowadays I suppose my biggest dream in WoW is similar but much less achievable. I would really like to see all those high-end raid dungeons both before and within The Burning Crusade, not so much to get great loot (although that would be nice) or be ahead of anyone else (I'd be happy to be the last) -- just to get to see the places, experience the fights, and learn my way through the challenges with a group of friends that I care about. Unfortunately my guild isn't really very large or inclined towards raiding. My enjoyment of my friends' company outweighs my patience with the typical raiding guild drama and pressure. But who knows... maybe my guild will grow and get serious and let this dream will come true someday.

I wanna be the highest ranked
like no one ever was
To dodge nerfs is my real test
To get an epic flying mount is my cause
I will travel across the land
searching far and wide
each flying mount to understand
the speed that's inside
Gryphon! it's you and me
I know it's my destiny,
Wyvern! Oh you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Phoenix! a heart so true
My loot hacks will pull us through,
You teach me and I'll teach you,
Noobies! got to gank em all!
Every elite mob along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day
to claim my rightful place
Come with me,
to the arena,
there's no better team
Arm in arm we'll win the fight!
It's always been our dream!

As a prot warrior, a full set of epics for when I go toe-to-toe with the biggest and baddest end bosses in BC. That's my ultimate goal.

My current goal is to get one character of every class to level 50 (or higher). All I'm missing so far is warlock - my little Gnome is at 48 (yes, I'm Alliance, blame my friends who started playing months before me). Once she makes it, my goal switch to 60, and then 70. Given how slowly I level, I imagine we'll have a new expansion before all 9 make it to 70 and my goal will be able to switch to 80 (or 75, or whatever).
I'm not the "typical" MMO player in that I'm not real big on grouping and cooperative work. Don't get me wrong, I love doing things with my friends in game, but I'm not fond of PUGing. I've tried raiding (MC, BWL, AQ40), and I didn't enjoy it enough to start scheduling my play. But I love to level, and level, and level. I love to get to know the different classes, to have the different playstyles. So that's what I'm doing.

To be infamous with the alliance and revered as a hero to the horde on my server :)

I would simply like to be able to see a toon too 70 before the games closes its doors.

Clearing all instances in the game (including the old 40-man ones) WITHOUT LEAVING MY CURRENT GUILD is something I would really like to accomplish. BC came out right after my small guild had grown enough to give some shots at Molten Core (we usually went in there with 25 people or so). I've never done Onyxia, BWL, Naxxramas, AQ40 and such...
My guild has a lot of talented players and great people to hang around with, but we always suffered from small numbers. I realize I could switch to a full-fledged raiding guild and see all these instances, but I really wish I could do so in the friendly environment that I learned to love :)

My goal is to get a giant raid together and destroy a horde major city. Cover it with allience and see how long we can hold it until the NPC respawns and horde players get the better of us ^-^

I've always wanted a complete set of tiered gear above T1.
I may end up settling for the Season 2 Arena warlock set as it makes me drool every time. I think someone in the art-design dept at Blizz has a love affair with Warlocks. Seriously... T6 helmet having a huge demon wing animation when equiping? That's nuts (but also awesome as I have a 'lock). And the best part is that now, according to the current plan, I should be able to get that helm (maybe a different color) in season 3 arena.
I like having a nice outfit with gear some people recognize. It's a little egotistical, but there's some of that in all of us.

as silly as it might sound, I really like the Ram mounts... so one of my goals is to get all of them for my night elf hunter. I don't mean one in every color, of course, but one in each group. so she has her regular Brown Ram (so... much... runecloth), an epic Swift Brown Ram, and a blue riding talbuk (hey, they used to go baa). she just got the Black War Ram and now I'm working toward the Stormpike Battle Charger. and then... I think I'll have them all ;)

I am proof of concept that new players are still joining WoW. I started playing about 3 weeks ago and what I enjoy most up until know is without a doubt exploring and enjoying the beautiful landscapes. I am sure most of you have already lost this feeling but for me this is a new exciting world that I just want to know more about. Right now it’s more about the experience than getting the cool items.
I've been doing a lot of reading about the game and since I'm fairly casual I was disappointed to find out that I will probably never be able to enjoy most of raids. Either because they are obsolete in terms of rewards and thus it's almost impossible to find a group willing to do them, or they are just impossible without a major time commitment which sadly I don't have.
It’s probably too early to say but I’d guess that my dream will be to experience all content in the game at least once. When playing single player RPG’s my goal was never to get the best items but to finish the story. Maybe my POV is not right for an MMO but that is just me.

1) I too would like to do a big raid on an opposing faction city..never done it..sounds like fun
2) to get every class to 70...so far I've got a lock and a shammy at 70...a mage and a priest at 61...and every other class is between 14 and 42...once i've done that WoW will be over for me and it'll be time for a new game...it's what was fun about diablo II for me and remains what is fun for me about WoW...learning each of the different classes..especially pvp'ing with them...helps improve your pvp so much when you actually know what it is the other classes are doing to you

Full Tier 10 and level 100, here I come.

My greatest goal was not doable when I started playing 18 months ago. I wanted an elf riding a wolf. Don't know why I just thought that would be cool as all get out.
So, got my obligatory B.elf, BGed a good bit and now I'm rolling on a black war wolf and loving it. I have had a raid geared toon and chasing bigger loot numbers 5 days a week lost its luster so most of my goals tend to be simpler.

they would be insane to increase the level cap again within a year of last expantion. every time they do it, the old content is aniquated and useless, and if they did it again in an incredibly short amount of time it would drive alot of ppl away (myself included prolly) If they're smart they will introduce alot more lv70 content, and a new race and/or class. Hopefully give horde the Naga like nearly every horde player asked for instead of gay little emo elves that look like alliance chars that got sprayed with red paint and shot by a shrink-ray.

I share your dream and your troubles. I want to experience all end game content, Pre BC and post, however we are a small guild and only about 6 of us actually want to raid.
Stormsinger Jun 15th 2007 12:51PM
I've been playing way too casually to have big dreams. At the one or maybe 2 instance runs a week it's hard to envision full tier 5 or tanking SSC. In fact I haven't even thought about goals in game for a while. Mostly WoW has been about getting little things done in 1-2 hours lumps every day or so.
About the only thing that I think "wow, I'd really like that" about is the Depleted Badge (i.e. ultimate feral tank trinket). So I spend a little while killing in the Ogrilla plateau now and again. And every time I drop a flayer or a nether ray or shard boar I think to myself (voice of Bullwinkle Moose), "This time for sure!"
That fantasy aside I'd be happy just having stuff to do when I have time to spend on them.

3 simple things, all achievable.
1. Make my main reach 70 (currently a 61 Aff-Lock)
2. Get my Epic Land Mount quest completed (already at the final part of the chain, just need to run DM-W and I'm done!)
3. Get a Netherdrake... armored or not I just want one.

Somewhere through Terrokar Forest, I realized my dream - to have a set of gear that I want to wear that looks good together. From the time I put on the Green Iron Hauberk until I stepped through the dark portal, my poor paladin was cursed with the most garishly colored gear. Teal and pink and orange and black were the order of the day. While I don't look perfect, most of what I have now is gold or blue, and I'm finally content with my looks.
burni Jun 15th 2007 1:56PM
Mine are simple. Get 5000g so I can:
Get a Netherdrake (the only flying mount big enough to look right for a Tauren imho!)
Get Epic Flight Form
I've already started grind a lot more than I have before so I have plenty of quests left when I get to 70.
Also, I'd like my to be bear tank above 20k armor (11k @ lvl63 at the mo)

my dream is to gain 51% of blizzard's parent company's stock, so I can go in there and fix all the stupid/horrible mistakes blizzard makes. Ill start by firing all the cms/heads of anything to do with "balance"...
