The best AH implementation I have seen to date in a MMORPG is that of Final Fantasy. The seller lists a minimum price that the bidder cannot see (a reserve price) once the bidder bids that price or higher he gets the item.
One thing I feel is a downfall and failure of the AH is the pricing of the items. I for one will not place a lot of items on the AH because if they don't sell I am losing money. Or , who ever heard of the seller having to pay more in AH fee's then he will see in return when selling his good?!?!?! Flawed system, it needs tweaking.
