Xfire Debate Club: Best and Worst Classes transcript

The transcripts from the sixth Xfire Debate Club ("Best and Worst Classes in WoW") are now available on Xfire's main site.
On the main floor, I moderated a debate between such heavy hitters as Wowhead's Skosiris, Curse's Mek and Teza, Ming the rogue, and arena masters Tarde, Nuvas and Tiz. I wasn't able to format the full transcript for WoW Insider, but feel free to visit the link so you can see me ask questions and the panelists ... well, ignore them and keep arguing about the last question, or fight about which arena is the most interesting, or claim that the other panelists will one day be working for them. But it was fun anyway!
Xfire also has a transcript from the open debate room, where Xfire users debated the questions themselves. I'd like to thank everyone who came to the debate or proposed questions to ask. I hope to see you all again on Xfire!

Wow....Ming's a jerk

It looks to me like everything was fine until that minglb prick showed up.
His kind is the same kind of people I hated when I played TCGs, they always thought because they were "the best" that their success amounted to something in terms of the "real world". They acted like they were going to have thirty virgins fan them with palm leaves and feed them grapes on a throne of gold one day, and their success in something so insignificant in the real world would amount to anything, really.
Guess what? Being the 1337est keyboard clicker and having an uber 5v5 rating is like being the coolest kid at an anime convention. At the end of the day, you're still a geek like the rest of us.

I agree on TheTreasoner (would suggest another name though)

Erm. Participants? A handful of bloggers who describe themselves as "heavy hitters" and "masters".
So you have a couple of literate WoW players (the ones who can actually write) being faced with inane questions -- "rouges have some the most best abbillities" (literal quote).
Now my question: Who gives a flying doughnut about this drivel?
Tridus Jun 25th 2007 8:09AM
Agreed. This is the worst online debate I have ever seen. Some of the questions weren't even discussed, it was that Ming jerk calling everybody scrubs and claiming that Rogues are universally bad. (Not like he's trying to get an unneeded buff or anything, honest!)

The Shaman "expert" is resto and says shaman are fine. NO CRAP.
RESTO SHAMAN are fine. Saying a 5hp mechanic not actually getting killed by every class with little to no effort is would be overpowered? HUH? You have to dispell or purge every other person's buff in the game and you can't do that to several paladin buffs. A macro kills the usefulness of a shaman's buff.
The shaman sitting in most of the top teams are RESTO. No other Shaman gets anywhere near the top teams. That supposed power of enhancement Shaman against 4 DPS teams is that they can interrupt and do damage fast, but it doesn't matter when they die so fast as to be paper tigers.
These guys were idiots. They went on stupid tangents and didn't actually answer the "hybrids as good a pure class?" question. I am sorry you folks had your time wasted by these people.

"Totems are fine". The Shaman discussion lost all credibility with that statement. There were tons of other dumb comments and these guys sound more like Blizzard employees than people that actually play the game. Please have more intelligent people that actually play the game in the next discussion...
