It came from the Blog: Tabard design contest! [Updated]
If you aren't familiar with WoW Insider's own guild, It came from the Blog on Zangarmarsh, let this be your introduction. We're a relatively new guild -- only a few weeks old -- and what that means is that we don't have a tabard yet! And I know everyone in the guild is eager to have one, but in order to get the coolest looking tabard possible, we're asking you to design them for us. Here's what you've got to do:
- Visit the tabard designer (near the guild master in any major city) and play with the tabard designs until you find one you like. (You can also use IGN's tabard designer)
- Take a screenshot of your work
- E-mail it to us at icftb@wow.com before 11:59 PM EST on Thursday, June 28th.
Update: Sorry, everyone -- but as of 11:59 PM EST Thursday, the entry period is closed. Check back on Saturday to vote for winners!

All your contests are for US residents only t.t What about us european readers?!

US-based companies can't host contests outside the country. Hell, even a few states inside the country don't allow this type of contest. It's got to do with stupid rules in place to keep contests and lottery from being too corrupt. But on tiny little things like this, it really has no place.

I really need to get a character on Zangarmarsh so I can join the guild. That's the next character I roll. Are we Horde or Alliance though? I would assume Horde, but it's always good to check.

And make it purty, please. The fate of around 350 characters depends on it.

Um, can we use Model Viewer as well, to make the tabard?

I believe (and IANAL) that US companies can run contests out of the United States, but the contest rules have to be written to reflect the specific rules and laws of that country.
To open a contest to Europe, our legal folks would have to research relevant laws in every single country we wished to run the contest in as well as keeping up to date on any changes in those laws. In general, this is a crazy amount of work, and it's why our legal team only allows our contests to be run in the US. (And even then, some types of giveaways may not be able to be run in specific places.)
We have to follow these rules because we happen to have a legal team who's looking out for our best interests and making us do everything absolutely by the book. I wish I could open contests to our European readers, but my options are either to hold US-only contests or not hold any contests. I choose to do the former.
