Another one bites the dust
First Tobold, and now Mastgrr of Paladin Sucks has exited Azeroth. Before you yell at us for saying the sky is falling (again), that's not what we're saying at all. WoW has lasted for a long time for a lot of people-- more than almost any other videogame out there (in some cases, ever). For some people, including this first round of bloggers, it's run its course. Just because they're quitting doesn't mean the end of the world (of Warcraft) is upon us. In fact, it doesn't even mean the blogging is over-- Tobold quit a week and a half ago, and he's still blogging about WoW. My guess is that both bloggers will be back when the next expansion hits.
But then again, it's kind of sad that these WoW veterans are stepping out of the game. At least it's productive-- Tobold quit partly because of attunements, and they were lifted the next day. Maybe now that Pally Sucks is RIP, that ret Paladin review will come sooner than we think.

I mean no disrespect to anyone but seriously, who cares? Bloggers don't make the world go round. And if a player decides to quit, well, it's his/her choice. I see no point in making a big deal out of it. Why this crap ever makes it on this site is beyond me.

"At least it's productive-- Tobold quit partly because of attunements, and they were lifted the next day. Maybe now that Pally Sucks is RIP, that ret Paladin review will come sooner than we think."
This is arrogance in the extreme, to think that one or two bloggers quitting had any effect on what Blizzard is doing (especially since the Ret review was announced before this guy quit).
The simple reality is that the game is getting old, and people quit all the time. One person leaving is not news, unless its Tigole.

@BuddhaPhi
Why HALF the stuff on this "blog" gets published is beyond me. This place needs an editor ... seriously.

@1 Well, considering WI is at its core, a Blog, I could see where there might be a little correlation. Besides, I'd rather have a post about something in the community than no posts at all. It's not like WI is only for in-game news, at all times, at all costs. Grow up, and if you don't like community posts, don't read them.

Agree with #1...this "that's it I'm taking my toys and going home!" crybaby stuff is really unbelievable. I JUST started WoW a month ago - and there are MILLIONS of happy WoW subscribers at all stages of the game - SO WHAT if some old-timers have outgrown the game or are moving on. I really enjoy some aspects of this site but these narcissistic "since I've done it all the game must suck for everyone" stories have no place here unless the goal is to drive people away.
BuddhaPhi Jun 28th 2007 11:07AM
@2, It's my opinion. If you don't like it too bad. I have just as much right to comment on anything I want, in any way I want just as you do. Don't be a jerk and tell me to grow up because I have a different point of view than you. Maybe I'm a little caustic. Get over it.
I come here for news about the game, not for news about people who write about the game.

lol@1,3,4:
You all sound like the Comic Book Guy from Simpsons.
"Worst. Topic. EVARR!"
This site must obviously hold some sort of entertainment value to you as you keep coming back to read it.
Or
"I'm only here so that I can point out all of the reasons why I don't like to be here. No you may NOT rent BoneStorm as I am all out..."
Maybe you should just ask for your money back and take your business elsewhere?
Just a suggestion.

Yeah, that review is so long overdue. I mean, aside from Bloodlust, all they got in BC was those worthless elementals on 20-minute timers and a lame water shield spell. What's the point in being an offensive hybrid if you're forced to heal?
What... you mean PALADINS are getting a review and shamans aren't? That's a shame.
So after Pally's get their review, Druids and Paladins will be able to tank, dps and heal in raids, but all shamans get to do is heal? Meanwhile, elemental shammies simply don't have the mana efficiency of other caster dps, and enhancement shammies still have aggro problems, even after the windfury nerf.
Go figure.

"Bloggers don't make the world go around" But both of these writers have had a major impact on the WOW community - I hate Pallies but I still read Pallidin Sucks. This is a blog site about Wow AND the WOW community. I like to know what is going on with the game outside of the game
hehe Jun 28th 2007 11:10AM
The think about Tobold though is he complained about the attunement part, then when it was lifted, he didn't go back to WoW, so apparently his problem really wasn't the attunement, it was just an excuse...
The Cannabis Connoisseur Jun 28th 2007 11:13AM
I totally agree with 1 and 5, I mean who cares? WoW will go on with or without these people. So they blog about WoW in addition to playing it -- big deal. They'll probably come back anyway once WoW releases another big patch with tons of new content.
Freehugz Jun 28th 2007 11:15AM
who?
Joyd Jun 28th 2007 11:22AM
Well, I liked Paladin Sucks a lot and am sad to see him turn it in. I guess that nothing lasts forever, though.
Baluki Jun 28th 2007 11:24AM
I blog about WoW, and I recently quit. Where's my post? :)
Mordiceius Jun 28th 2007 11:43AM
First of all, for all of you bitching: Shut the hell up. If you don't like that they post this, GO ELSEWHERE. I come here for the blogger's incite and opinion of what's going on. If I want NEWS, I'll go to the official site. I like posts like this for keeping me up to date on the community.
And Xanthar, if you're an elemental shaman with mana problems, then you must suck. We have an elemental shaman in our raids and he's always one of the top DPS with no mana problems. Maybe YOU and all the rest of the players that just generally suck are the one with the problems.
Mike Schramm Jun 28th 2007 12:01PM
We appreciate all comments on the site :)

More power to them as they move on in their gaming choices.
As to their blogging. If they don't play WoW anymore then they really shouldn't blog on it as they're out of the loop now, so to speak.
Time for new blood and fresh views to appear - which is always a healthy thing.

@Mordiceius
Thanks for your "incite." Golf clap for raising the level of intelligent discussion by
a) assuming I play a shaman
b) assuming that disagreeing with Blizzard's treatment of a class means I must suck
c) resorting to flaming instead taking a second to think about what I'm saying
Does it seem fair that Blizzard is giving Paladins three raid viable talent trees when Shamans are still stuck with one? Of course there are going to be those shamans who work their asses off to top damage meters. I'm sure the one you're speaking of is very talented. However, is an elemental shammy really as raid viable as say, a boomkin? Balance druids used to be a joke, but they've received a lot of love over the past few patches and are becoming more and more accepted. Innervate alone is godly. Boomkins and elemental shammies both add to crit in caster groups, etc. However, Shamans still need some work. If Blizzard treated Shaman as well as they have Druids and Pallies, Mana Tide would be trainable. How much more valuable would an elemental shammy be if that were the case?

WoWInsider is a Blog that reports news about the WoW Community. Let's see... Bloggers are part of the WoW Community. So, for a blog to report about other bloggers within the WoW Blogosphere, totally makes sense to me. Heck, WoWInsider has a section dedicated to "Who would win in a fight?" and "This week in random guild recruitment and drama." which concern even a smaller portion of the world than these bloggers do.
In short, stop complaining about it, when a well respected writer/blogger QUITS the game he's blogging about, that's news in my opinion. It'd be like if the guys who run WoWHead stopped playing WoW.
Wudamonkey Jun 28th 2007 1:08PM
I got a question. IIRC Paladins sucks was run by two bloggers right? Because I remember around May/June a guy named Val (cant remember the rest) on the pally forums was flaming trolls/blizzard out of frustration the last few day of his account.
So I guess now the second blogger is done.
Also to the shaman QQin. Yes shaman need help but don’t give me that paladins have 3 viable trees BS in terms of spec distribution shaman are much better and that’s a fact.
92% of the paladins who are exalted with kara and have killed Magtheridon are holy. That makes prot the least used tree in raiding and ret the third least used.
97% of top 20 5v5 arena pallys are holy. Ret and prot and again in the bottom 3 least used spec.
Vs
56% raiding shaman are resto.
55% of top 20 5v5 arena shman are elemental.
